jdmidwest Posted March 21, 2022 Posted March 21, 2022 How was fishing overall? Went to local lake in Perryville, muddy 54 degree water, not even a bump. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson

When I pulled in and saw the water I almost left.

Like trout only good😂 The river doubled overnight so I was prepared for good to low water levels. I guess it took awhile for the high water to get to the gauge I watch. I went anyway. Pulled in to muddy cold water and floating debris. Almost left but said the heck with it. It's the highest water level I've been on that river. Hit a couple spots I know with eddies in high water flipping a tightrope firecracker with zman TRD crawz on it into anything that looked fishy and no current. 3rd spot paid off. Just a slight tick. I had the 1/4 oz firecracker rigged because of anticipated low water on a light action St Croix rod. Figuring I wouldn't get bit I just used that. Had it doubled over the whole time.
