My dad and I fished Friday-Sunday. Talk about wind. We fished the Dam area as usual. Big South wind made it hard to fish the usual spots we fish for smallmouth with Ned rig. It was impossible to fish any main lake gravel with Ned. We found some LM and K bedders somewhat out of the wind in a few places. Water sometimes as high as 65 in afternoon in creeks. Very tough to fish the way we wanted to. Going to try and get back Friday to go after brown fish but they are calling for 10-20 mph winds again. Got a bonus monster white but couldn’t get others to bite. Also casted a few off the dock while checking boat batteries at night and got a fat brownie

Alex, great pictures of very healthy looking fish. Remember the wind is your friend.

Thanks I agree but this was the case of too much wind. Especially for my dads back riding across the lake in 3-4 footers. Not that big of deal for a young guy like me but it takes a toll on him.

It's only your friend when it's useful. Sometimes it just blows out of spite.

I fished the dam area Saturday as well and it was the worst I have seen in a long time. It felt to me like trying to fish LOZ in May or being on Stockton or Truman when a mouse sneezes in the right direction. We did keep saying if the wind would pick up it might generate a better bite, as you know the wind is your friend. I took a beating in my 18 Ft Ranger.

Just had that wind generator installed on the dock last month. Fully adjustable from a light breeze to full on gale. It's really nice and is more eco-friendly than the artillery shells and mustard gas that I sometimes have to use as a deterrent. Looks like it worked keeping you OUT of my cove. Drained my batteries running it all weekend but worth it.
