ColdWaterFshr Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Those are some sweet poppers. I'll take 6 of each please. Flysmallie 1

I can tie but I can't paint detail to save my life. Yeah I have this thing for spending way too much time and money making them look pretty. The fish don’t care. I’m not sure you would want to pay what it costs to paint one. I would like to mold my own foam heads but haven’t taken that step yet. It really needs to happen though.
Johnsfolly Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 @Flysmallie those are great looking flies. Thanks for sharing your great photos of your work. The time and skill spent on both fronts (tying/painting and photographing) really are awesome. Flysmallie and snagged in outlet 3 2
snagged in outlet 3 Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 I’ve got to make catching smallies on a fly a goal this year. I was hesitant at first because I was new to boat handling and fishing at the same time but I think I’m good to go now. Thanks for the inspiration. I enjoy creating things and this is what happens when you spend too much time in the garage. And I've been doing a lot of that lately to keep me away from the mind suck of a computer and/or TV screen. (even though I did just buy myself an Xbox) Johnsfolly 1

I had almost quit doing it while floating but last year I decided that the only way to get better at fly fishing out of a kayak was to just do it. And since I have to take my wife almost every weekend I just did it. It's still a disaster but it's an enjoyable disaster. You can let that little yellow fly just drift down along the river with you and have plenty of fun. Just give it a tiny wiggle every once in a while. tjm, Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr and 2 others 3 2
FishnDave Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Those all look great! Really well done! Flysmallie 1
Nick Adams Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Looks like magazine quality flies and photos. I'd like a glass of whatever than cork goes to as well. On the rocks, please. Flysmallie 1
tjm Posted May 26, 2022 Posted May 26, 2022 Really nice work, not sure I could fish them though. Too pretty, remind me of some bass flies i bought back in the '80s and carried around til they deteriorated always thinking "I'll save that, it's so nice". My half fast quick tied flies are ugly by comparison.
