Do you guys have ribs running along the boat bottom?

I do.  By taking a beating, its mostly due to the light weight of the boat.  And the oversplash coming back in the boat on a choppy windy day or wakes.

As far as handling, its nimble and quick to plane.

My hull is a bit heavier than yours and still a rough ride on choppy water. Like yours up on plane quickly and even with no ribs grabs and turns good. The sides are what is called a triple chined. It will bite in on a turn. Makes up for the rib's you guys have, I guess.  Thanks, for your input JD and @snagged in outlet 3

I have a 1752 with the thinner hull (.08 gauge?).  I put the Wetlander coating on the bottom and it works.   It’s not even scuffed where I hit a rock with rebar exposed on it.  A guy who blasts and coats pipe piles for me did it.   I just had to buy the coating.   It’s bullet proof.

Gonna have to try some of that on my current project.  Something to seal the rivets.

There is some stuff called "Gluvit" that is a great coating for jon boats, but the right way to seal rivets (if you can get to both sides of them) is to just "buck them up" with an anvil (of sorts) and a ball peen hammer.   2 mediocre taps is all it ever takes. And while you're at it....buck up the ones closest to it.

A loose rivet is just going to get looser.....and then the one next to it will get loose.  Anything you try to "seal it up", or "cover it" with is not going to last.

Take my old beat to hell 1648 out for a full day, and at the end of the day I'll give you $1.00 for every beer bottle capful of water that's in the bilge.  👍🙂

I don’t know about the rivets but the guy at Wetlander will answer your questions.   My coating guy blasted mine with glass beads.   Steel shot will imbed in the aluminum and rust.
