Stories about the world record trout caught on hook and line. These are seriously large fish.

Maybe not as exciting as those caught by OAF members @Bill Babler, @fmcbrandon, and @JestersHK in recent years 😉!

After seeing this, I make up for my poor fishing skills by convincing myself I catch the small, young, flyweight tough fighting Boxers.  Vs the near death 90-year-old fat men eating chips on the sofa all day waiting to die.

We're all waiting to die. Some are just in a bigger hurry.

Me, I want the couch-bound giant that saw thru all the pranks of previous anglers attempts, but finally fell for mine. Anything less is just gettin' there.

I can't dance like I used to.

I do enjoy numbers some times,  but it's the big bite that drives me... after 20 or so fish I'm bored and will move or seek bigger elsewhere.  Some dandy trout in that article though,  thanks John for sharing

It takes quite a bit of fruitless casts to get me to fish for numbers anymore.  Usually a couple trips at least.  Especially the older I get.  I've caught thousands of stockers in the past 50 plus years.  I also like vicious strikes!!

When I see articles like the one I posted, it makes me think really how we are not even fishing for the same fish when catching stockers vs these giants. Even a 20 inch fish which most consider the gateway to trophy trout are insignificant compared to how big these fish can really get under the right circumstances. Makes my PB rainbow - 4Lbs and PB brown - 5 lbs (both caught in the Current not Taney or White) look like micros 😅

Brett and I were spot locked in the white near Buffalo shoals one time and we were on a herd of 12-13in fish... we caught them every cast and even hanging your jig in the water they'd bite lol... we could of easily sat there and caught over a hundred realistically, but I got tired quick of taking them off the hook 😆

That was me on the fourth catching juvenile black sea bass from a pier down in VA. I had to set a target of two dozen fish and then be done.😁

I have only once been so lucky .  A friend and I were fishing a small city pond that must have just been stocked.  Almost every cast resulted in a yellow belly catfish aka bullhead.  They were fun at first, but after 20 or so, your hands really got to stinking,  and almost every single one swallowed the hook.  Snelled hooks on a swivel were our saving grace.  This was early 90's, we couldn't afford to get film developed.   So unfortunately,  I don't have any pictures of the 8-10 inch monsters.
