Political forum?

Just noticed it appears to be gone. If that’s the case, why? 
 

Those most active on this site know each other well enough to know how the others think/feel. I have seen a few “knock it off guys or this will get shut down” comments the past day or so here. Why? Why sensor the free speech of others on a site that most are either pulling a leg to rile another for a giggle, or are less concerned about those they reply to, so they type just to do so. 
 

Instead of repeating the above “…” I mentioned, why is there no place here anymore where you are free to say as you feel, without getting the Brandon treatment?

Phil decided that it was just too mean and ugly without moderation and shut it down.  Which is totally his call.  I participated there a lot before the end.  I can testify there was a lot of heat and not just friendly heat.  There was a pretty small number of regular participants, and everybody knew where everybody else stood.  It served mainly as a place to vent one's spleen and I understand why Phil didn't care for it.

Religion and Politics are two things that are not able to be discussed in public by most.  I know where many others stand, but most have no idea where I do.  I used to really enjoy playing both sides of those fences just to see how strong and educated many of my friends and family were.  I learned the hard way how that can hurt people in many ways.  

Things written in text are hard enough to interpret for day to day situations.   I don't care to lose more people on here because of hurt feelings.  Especially when they may have been/will be mis interpreted. 

I know that doesn't answer your question.  I do hope it helps to keep the site calm.
