oneshot 1 Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Not trying to start anything just curious. During this hot weather my phone quit on me because it got too hot. I was wondering if EV do the same? oneshot
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 my livescope transducer overheated on me yesterday lol gotmuddy 1
MrGiggles Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 EV's have cooling systems that aren't unlike what a normal car has, with a radiator, water pump, coolant, etc. So they will not overheat but there will be a decrease in range with adverse weather, especially in cold conditions. -Austin
oneshot 1 Posted July 25, 2022 Author Posted July 25, 2022 I was just wondering. Funny I seen my first EV the other day. The first thing catch my eye was no Tail Pipe. oneshot
Flysmallie Posted July 25, 2022 Posted July 25, 2022 Friend of mine took me out for a ride in this last week. We used autopilot which worked well out on the highway but not so good in the neighborhoods. We also went to a store to pickup some stuff and then summoned it to pick us up at the door. That is very sketchy. It has no gear shift or any other things inside. Just a steering wheel, gas pedal, and brake pedal that you rarely use. Everything else is controlled on the computer screen. And I mean everything. Oh and I have been in some fast cars. I have had some really fast cars. The best man from my wedding drives a top fuel dragster. I know what fast is. And that is the fastest street car I’ve ever seen. It’s scary fast. From zero to 120+ was nothing. Huge price tag though. Seth, FishnDave, Terrierman and 1 other 4

MrGiggles Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 I see Teslas on highway 13 somewhat frequently. Saw a Model X towing a sizable Tracker Deep-V in Springfield once. I read that they tested the new electric F150's range while towing, and it was dismal. Like <100 miles. -Austin
