From when I went through some of that the Dr. Told me to take Naproxen, actually gave me a script for heavier dosage.  Naproxen helps with inflammation which is part of what makes it worse.  But that is what them Dr. Dudes are good for, my favorite Dr was kind of uppity and not much of a bedside manner but dang he could diagnose, prescribe and make a few snotty comments in short order.  I foolishly asked "so do I get a lecture about being more careful or taking better care of my back?"  His response why? You wouldn't listen anyway, guys like you pay for my new office furniture.  Gotta love a guy who tells it like it is.

You should have seen me doing Ketchup's shifty hip technique this morning 😂

My wife was like "What in Christ's name are you going through in there?!!!"

I think she thought I was masturbating.  😂

I know i told you to NOT to do it up and down. That motion could cause a rise in the sheets from rubbing.

Some chiropractors are MUCH better than others. My old one in NC was on the Elon University sports medicine team & absolutely knew his stuff. Never any discomfort with manipulation & would send me out the door 20 minutes later, feeling much better than when I'd walked in.

I spent the last 10 years of my Army career on Airborne status & made 56 static line jumps in that time. With a 70 pound chute & reserve, occasionally another 40 to 70 pounds of gear & a chute designed to put boots on the ground quickly, you land with the impact of jumping off the roof of a single story home. My back & neck are wrecked from top to bottom, with bulging disks at C6/C7 & L4/L5/S1 & a very pinched nerve at C6/C7.

Chiro can't do anything for that pinched nerve, but can mostly get my worn out old bones lined back up as correctly as they're ever gonna be. Same with the pain. It helps, but certainly doesn't fix the underlying issues. I'll take the 70% solution, all day long, over nothing. Overlooked bonus of chiropracty not being covered by most insurance- drastically lower prices. Typical visits run $35-$55, with x-rays as a new patient running the initial visit up around $80-$90.

I've used a guy in Bolivar a couple times, but he doesn't quite have the touch like my old one & I'll be looking for someone else next time.  Any leads on a good chiropractor between Harrisonville & Springfield?

Sorry Wrench. I know exactly what you are going through. I had a pinched nerve in my neck in February. I was miserable. The pain went down my back and all the way down my right arm. My hand went numb for about 6 weeks. It wasn't totally numb because if it brushed up against anything it hurt like hell. Went to the doctor, muscle relaxers, pain pills, everything. Nothing worked. Another doctor, x-rays, nerve damage testing, nothing worked. I ate more ibuprofen, naproxen, and anything else I thought would work. Nothing worked. I was miserable. At the end of April I finally got into a physical therapist. I wasn't into that at all but it was the next step before my insurance would do anything else. One 30 minute session and I felt much better than I had in a couple of months. It came back a few hours later but I kept going to PT and it did get better. Still not a 100% and I have some permanent nerve damage, but it's not painful anymore. Now both of my knees are all f'd up but that's been going on since 1985.

Well I grossly overdid it yesterday 😥

A dig through the medicine cabinet revealed some leftover Hydrocodone from one of the kids wisdom tooth extractions.  Score!!!  Down the hatch!! 👍

30 minutes later I'm dancing around the shop like MC Hammer, slinging gearcases around, and just living my best life.   It wore off in about 4 hours, so I shoved a sandwich down my throat and popped another one, but an hour later there was no relief at all, and the muscle in my leg was uncontrollably rumbling like a bag of popcorn in the microwave.   An hour later I'm hiding from wife and kid in the shower because tears are rolling down my face.   Had to beg the wife to dig out a pair of crutches from the attic just so I could move around the house.

Managed to sleep in little 1.5-2 hour stints last night, and it's obvious that I'm gonna have to take a few days off.

I'm not even answering work calls today.....cuz someone will invariably try to talk me into doing something......and I ain't gonna.   Period!

If you could see how my dog looks at me and softly whines when I'm in serious pain you'd know why I love this jackass.  What a good boy! 🤗

That "sciatic nerve" is nothing to play around with.   That MFer will flat put you DOWN.

Dangit Glen I am hating to hear your ongoing discomfort. I know about crap like this, but I am not telling you what I would do because you need to make a choice of what you need to do. Just do something and see if it will work.  Sounds like you are approaching a wall or have hit it.  I know you feel the body can heal itself and you are right in some instances. There are other things that will not heal on their own. Even if you need to eat a slice of humble pie do SOMETHING to feel better.
