Got home not too long ago.   Had a great weekend.  The 3 inches of opening morning snow was very pretty.  We stayed busy this weekend for sure. 

I spined my doe, not happy about it, but I was standing up in a box blind hanging out the window to get a bead on her at 5:19pm... she finally turned broadside after watching her and a 6pt for 30 minutes. 

Made a perfect shot on that nasty mangy yote though of course.  It happens though and got some meat in the freezer. Headed back this weekend with my oldest, I'm leaving the bucks for her.

I got this guy about 30 minutes after daylight Saturday. It rarely happens that quick for me. My buddy was hunting with me and took a doe shortly after that. I'm going to try and fill another doe tag with my rifle and then switch to the muzzleloader or my dads Ruger Redhawk .44 mag pistol. I've always wanted to harvest one with the pistol but haven't actually tried.

I had an old Boar thought it would be bad but wasn't but I cut it soon as I killed it. Skinned it,  washed it out and let it hang few hours.

That one should have been very good.

I went to sit in wife's stand last night for some relaxing time.  Doe decided to come see me, thought at one point she was gonna try to stick her head in the window.  If I had been packing either my pistol or lever .357 I might have shot her, more likely I still wouldn't have.  Played some "God Bless the USA" loudly on my phone for her, she came closer.  Finally ended up just telling her she needed to just go away.  She looked at me like I was an idiot (I know that look).  She finally got bored I guess and wandered off.

Had a good opening day with our group. Very exciting! Lots of deer moving.
