Shooting those poor little deer when they are out to breed and are the most vulnerable, Putting football and basketball on all the local channels should be banned. Then you have all the water being used for all the golf courses, football fields, baseball fields, soccer fields all should be banned, because they all use to much water. And then ban all politicians. Come on you got to be kidding. Tournaments are not a problem. At least tournament put the fish back in the water and are not taking them home to fill their freezers up with fish. There is a lot of care that goes into keeping fish alive in most all tournaments. I know I will probably catch all kinds of !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for this. But you will not hurt my only little feeling I have. You realize that Kansas deer season opens December 1 every year to at least avoid a good portion of the rut. Champ188, magicwormman and Browning Guy 2 1

I live in Mo. so had to clue myself, but pretty cool. Some of the best hunting is after the rut anyways. TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

Browning Guy Posted December 7, 2022 Posted December 7, 2022 Suggesting we consider changing the ways/times of tournaments causes angst. As a 'has been' I guess, no need for me to comment regarding significant changes I've witnessed to the fishery in the 50 years I've been a part of it. Texas does slot limits and works extremely hard on their lakes....maybe modify tournaments in an attempt to find common ground to relieve some of the pressure on a limited resource (TR) is a bridge too far. I was once a weekend warrior. It was fun. I made money in the process. In my 'has been' years I've come to the realization taking bedding fish 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.... culling to upgrade for an ounce or two at a time. 50, 100, 200, 300, 400 tournament boats 2-3 days per week during the spawn probably wasn't in my best interest to improve my future to catch more fish. Mentioning the idea of helping a fishery become stronger is considered taboo...... my original comment: I'd like to see the Corp and MDC put a hold on tournaments through the month of April every other year. At the least make it a three fish limit........guessing money won't let that happen. Instead, lets not try and find common ground or lets not consider out of the box ways to strengthen the limited resource we have in Tablerock. Hold tournaments for four weeks EVERY OTHER YEAR or put a three fish limit on fishermen EVERY OTHER YEAR....nope won't hear of it. That's way too extreme. 15 yrs ago I bought a pontoon for the sole purpose of placing brush piles and rock piles to help me catch (and release) more fish. I'm well over 200 brush piles on three arms of TR. Makes one wonder how many would want to take the time to help us 'has beens' make the fishery better with brush at the least every other year. magicwormman, tjm, Quillback and 1 other 2 2

Champ188 Posted December 8, 2022 Posted December 8, 2022 You know Ketchup, us "has beens" have seen the lake at its best and we want to leave it like we found it ... or better. At this point, it's doubtful that will ever happen, but at least we are open to some new ideas of management and conservation. But heck no, let's not consider tighter regulations because by gosh, we aren't gonna let the gubment and those dastardly "has beens" take away our rights to pound the resource to death. Heaven forbid that we be restricted to a 3-fish limit or a no-cull rule during the spawning months to protect the fishery for ourselves and future generations. No one is trying to take anything from anyone, just protect the fishery from fishermen themselves. One really big problem is, the "never beens" just want to start more and more tournaments until the field is diluted enough that they can finally cash a check. Shoot, put your money up and fish against the Becks and Bablers and Barkers and Fletchers and McCutcheons and Thomases and Eakins of the world ... that's how it works if you want to get better. Of course, many will drop out at the thought of putting their money up against the best, creating exactly what many including myself believe would help more than anything. Less tournaments means less pressure on the fish ... especially spawning fish, which is the original subject of this post anyway. top_dollar, fishinwrench, evilcatfish and 2 others 5
