They catch snails and feed them to the chickens. I don’t have any and don’t want any. My last contact with poultry was raising 25000 free range turkeys. There is joke there somewhere. But... thanks for feeding America.

Three Splash Ameracaunas, one Buff Orpington, one Light Brahma and one Barred Rock. I like some variety in my yard birds. I'm getting them from the place where oneshot got the ones that died on him. So who knows how many will actually make it. They'll be started here indoors in a wading pool with pine shavings for bedding and a heat lamp. They'll have as good a chance as I know how to give them. Rick we pick(ed) birds mostly based upon variety of egg coloration first then bird coloration. We have done a similar approach with our chicks. They usually don't go outside for several weeks. We want them to be fully feathered before they get added to the flock.

We usually just pluck by hand. Seems my older birds do alot of bad pecking when I put younger birds with them. oneshot

Ketchup Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 If there is any yard in America that spoils their chickens more than my yard, please step forward. Ours get a daily dose of: Meal worms eaten from the hand. Lap time including scratching their heads, if wanted. Rides on the atv “have 2 that love it”. Let out daily at 6am to roam the 3/4 acre fenced back yard “tho a couple go further”. Sit on our shoulders while we swing. Daily treats brought home from her work. And the list could go on. Every one “ 11 hens, 1 rooster” all have names that match them. Miles for the rooster because the guy can travel in a days time. These things go beyond pets for her. It is her life outside of work, so i feed her addiction. Hate when it does sideways pictures, but out of my control. BilletHead and Johnsfolly 2 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. MOPanfisher Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 I raised enough chickens up through my teenage years. I ain't gonna raise them nasty things again. I would rather take up making meth. bfishn 1

To eat one of her kids would be like me taking away one pair of her 50+ pairs of shoes. Total no no. BilletHead and Terrierman 2 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. Ketchup Posted December 6, 2022 Posted December 6, 2022 We are still getting between 5 and 9 eggs daily. Way more than we eat, so she passes them out at her work every friday. Terrierman and BilletHead 2 TinBoats BassClub. An aluminum only bass club. If interested in info send me a PM.

We haven't had to buy eggs at the store for 4-5 years. 👍 I had 5 hens and 2 roosters when the tornado hit. One rooster was all that was left here during the clean-up and rebuild......his name was Clyde, and he was mad as hell! Attacked a total of 4 grown men & 2 kids. After he scarred up the last kid it was determined that he had to GO. Nobody could catch him for relocation to a farm or something, so I took him out with a CCI Mini Mag hollow point. Ketchup 1
