Peeled the bandage off this afternoon.  Heck.i think they did a good job with it, they were somewhat worried about how it would look, considering what they had to work with I think it came out just fine.  Don't reckon I needed all of my ear anyway since I don't listen very well.  I hear just fine but don't listen!  Weird that both of the major removals came from the right side since I spend a lot of my life driving around, would have thought most would be on left side.  Oh well the next one will be left ear.  Not much skin there to work on.

That should heal up just fine. 👍

I had em cut a spot off my nose a few years ago.  I was just with my wife at her dermatologist appointment and the doc was like let me look at that nose. My pops has had nose and hands cut on multiple times. Being outdoors can be a hazard but beats hiding in the basement.

Was a wake up call for me to practice better skin care in the sun,  and gave me more excuses to keep fishing at night...

Good luck to all my OAF friends dealing with this crud.  It's less than pleasant,  good thing for me you can't fix ugly and scars are cool right?

Getting old ain't for wimps.  I know a lot of old outdoorsmen, quite a few of them get stuff removed or cut out.  It sucks, but not one of them that I know has developed melanoma.

I've been lucky, had a few things burned off, but haven't had to get anything removed.  I'm sure as heck not taking up night fishing, I can't stay awake.

I would think that with a good cutter or more accurately a good stitcher it would be awkward for a bit but should heal up.  Might talk funny for a while but who would notice?

😅  I'm gonna try the Curaderm process and suffer through the burn......They say it hurts like hell for the first few applications, but things tend to grow back normally after the bad cells are wiped out.

One dudes nose was 1/4 gone and it filled back in really well.   Tons and tons of excellent reviews......yet the U.S. medical assoc. pretends to not even recognize it.   I dunno, but it sounds way better than what the dermatologist is trying to push.

I didn't know you could even get curaderm in the US.  I have heard about it but don't know much about it.  Curious as to what the dermatologist wanted to do that really put you off.

She wants to put me on Erivedge for 4-6 months.....to allegedly shrink it......Then do surgery.

So I spent a week intimately researching "Erivedge" and.... HELL TO THE NO!    I voiced my concerns as sincerely and respectfully as I could, and she copped a very noticable attitude.   I had her on speaker and my wife and kid even picked up on the way her demeanor instantly changed.

That crap is pure poison. I mean, you aren't even supposed to use the same toilet as others in your household for 3 months AFTER you stop taking it.   Muscle and joint pain, weight loss and nausea is guaranteed.   If I was a housewife and all I had to do was load a dishwasher a few times a week.....then that would be one thing...... But I have a physical business to run here !    So, NO!

If you had went a year ago......

So what is the long term prognosis if you let it run its course?  Or have they ever had to deal with someone that decided to do that?
