Bill Babler Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Our house at SK is up to 3.1 now after that last deluge. Seems to be slacking off a bit now. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
bobby b. Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 three pics attached - projected crest on the James at Galena - bummer - I fished out of Cape Fair Wednesday - nice day, good stain water, fish on the bank and in the pockets out to about 20 fow - I guess that will all change now. - the ramp parking lot was fuller than I have ever seen. Hope the guys that live there give updates on how bad it gets up there - I hoped to go back after this rain. The other pic is from my dock in North Indian - you can see the mud line coming off the failed Indian Ridge project where the developer was fined for violation of the Clean Water Act after cutting down all the vegetation and letting the dirt run into the creek. The old timers in the area tell me that the creek bed is all silted in and ruined the fishing here, that coupled with the nearby inadequate poorly maintained septic systems. The third pic shows the mud run-off from the condo construction adjacent to Silver Dollar City. I've never seen that before. In my view development is damaging the lake. Rant over. tjm Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 I live near Little Sugar Creek, so it's the one I watch, 4"+ and the creek went from 264 cfs Mar 23 at 6:30pm gauge 3.7' to 14600 cfs Mar 24 at 8:45am gauge 17.6' overnight ( we are currently flooded in by dry ditches running full) RR shows a peak of 5210cfs at 8:30pm Mar 23 but is already back down to 2530cfs at 12:40pm Mar 24 so the rain must have stopped there sooner and as usual it will be fishable sooner than most other streams. bfishn 1
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2023 Author Root Admin Posted March 24, 2023 I’m seeing allot of 5, 5.5 and 6 inches on the north side, James River area. Table Rock is jumping .2 feet per hour. Crest?? TRDam is releasing 15,000 now and I expect 20,000 tomorrow at some point. I’m going to do one cast this evening. To the dam- throw white jigs of course. bobby b., Carl W, cheesemaster and 3 others 6

Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 24, 2023 Author Root Admin Posted March 24, 2023 That’s allot of rain for less than 24 hours.
Terrierman Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 We took a drive around the area a little earlier. There is a lot of damage from Linden into Ozark. Really big trees down in a lot of yards, most uprooted but a significant number snapped off. I was lucky at my place. Only a few limbs and lost a little gravel from the driveway but nothing like the soon to be new neighbor did.
Quillback Posted March 24, 2023 Posted March 24, 2023 Drove around a bit today, not too bad. Some gravel on the roads, lakes got muddied up with some debris washed in, but that's about it. he really heavy stuff look to have fallen just to the north of me. Beaver has only come up 6 inches or so. Just noticed that they've cranked up the release on TR. 16,000 CFS, but there is still 30,000 CFS coming in from the James.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted March 25, 2023 Author Root Admin Posted March 25, 2023 Fishing was pretty good. They did like white so maybe seen some shad. We didn't see any. Scud bite is going to be really good though. Stopped some guys from anchoring in the middle of the lake on the way up... just don't understand the logic. And they certainly aren't going to catch anything!!!!!!!! Quillback and crazy4fishin 2
Quillback Posted March 25, 2023 Posted March 25, 2023 Looks like the James has peaked and is finally coming down.
