fishinwrench Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 In all seriousness, from a conservation standpoint .....What is the purpose of a "possession limit" ? 🤔 An angler with intentions of EATING bass can only have 12 in his possession. But a tournament angler can catch, relocate/cull, and potentially kill, UNLIMITED numbers of bass as long as he throws them back into the lake SOMEWHERE. Does that make any sense at all ? It was fine, I guess, until there started being 60-100 tournaments per month on every lake in the country. You simply can't make the case that it does no harm. You'd have to be retarded to buy that claim. bluebasser86, tjm and Champ188 2 1

Gavin Posted May 16, 2023 Posted May 16, 2023 I never saw the point of tourney angling. It's expensive, and I'd bet that the great majority of tournament participants rarely cash a check (if ever). waterpossum and bfishn 2

It's challenging, and it's fun, and that feeling you get when you win or do really well is better than sex, and lasts way longer too. But it's undeniable that far too many guys have lost their ever-lovin' minds and become way overly obsessed with it. When they started recruiting TEAMS out of highschool kids.....that was when I realized how ridiculous it had become. As a career choice you're better off with a $14 shovel in your hand than even the best $400 crankbait rod. waterpossum 1

No kidding. Stock traders, politicians, and business execs that cheat.... should receive such criticism and scarlet letters. 🙄 tjm 1

DADAKOTA Posted May 17, 2023 Posted May 17, 2023 The competition and challenge is a driver for tourneys. The vast majority of tourney anglers lose money at it, but somehow driving that glitter sled really inflates their egos. If I didn't make money at it I sure wouldn't be paying to play.
Gavin Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 I guess I’ll blame it on lack of intelligence. Why should idiot bass lotto players be allowed to monopolize our big public lakes.
Quillback Posted May 18, 2023 Posted May 18, 2023 Welp, this has turned into a bashing thread so time to shut it down. fishinwrench, grizwilson and Champ188 1 2
