I love seeing these jet boat problems and constant complaining.  I truly HOPE your intakes are clogged beyond repair.  Bent intake bars, oh the whining, oh my! what do I do??🤣

I consider you all lazy sonsabicches.  Pick up a paddle and float the thing.  Screw your excuses for lack of time and "need to get there fast".  We would all appreciate less noise, and exhaust.  And, lets face it.   You're not cool.  You can't catch fish, except in those favorite "pet secret spots", miles from a boat ramp, where you've gone to dozens of times and pitch the same ned rig crap with lots of specialized skill involved, and then jet up to the next spot, whacking the same fish you've caught a dozen times over this year, posting pictures as if you're a genius.  🤣  Yeah, I'm talking to you.  But whatever you do, don't dare reveal too much in your pictures of your whereabouts . . . .😂😂

Ok.  I’ll stop posting.  But I won’t stop going😁

I would not trade any of my many years of floating streams in canoes and yaks for one jet boat ride.  But my buddies have swelled beyond the kayak stage.  And the streams are choked with floaters more so now than in my glory days.

I can take a jet powered boat up thru a bunch of floater bs and fish behind them or in front of them all day and be happy.  And do it from one access point.

Since I got a jet boat I never looked back. I get nothing from the canoe experience anymore. All I’m there for is to catch fish, and am not into sight seeing. To each his own. But I can’t take the dudes splainin to me how they’re superior and that I’m missing out.

The world needs a whole lot less of that. I will never understand people getting butthurt over how others enjoy their life.

I've always wanted a jet boat but they just won't go where I want to go right now. There's a boat in the future but I will probably just go back to a bass boat at that point.

A bunch of the little streams and creeks are getting exposed by these social media hype kings. So maybe just buying a bass boat is the best thing to do anyway.

Bass boat with a jet motor on it.  Best of both worlds.

My home waters is ruled by jet boats.  The stump filled shallow water of Lake Wappappello requires them unless you know the channels.  Jets can go almost anywhere like an airboat.

Depressing, right?

Suppose we give our many miles of hiking trails open access to ATV's/4-wheelers and horses?  Even just mountain bikes.  Which I enjoy doing.  But there is a place for it.

I have no problem with lakes and lower sections of wide open river, but the encroachment keeps going further and further upstream.

I bought my jet boat in 2007...geez, that sounds like a long time ago but seems like yesterday.  I've always used mine almost exclusively in colder weather, because that's when the rivers you can easily use one on are uncrowded and better fishing.  I've always reserved the warm weather fishing for rivers too small or too low for a lot of jet boat use, because I would rather fish them out of my solo canoe than run big, crowded rivers in the jetboat.

Now that I'm living right on a popular jet boat river, it makes me even sadder what's happened to our rivers.  Weekends in warmer weather are just plain nuts.  A hundred boats a day going past the house.  95% of the people running jet boats on it aren't fishing, just joy riding.  Big boats that have 250 HP engines running incessantly up and down the river.  Those incredibly stupid little overpowered mini jet boats that nutcases are always posting videos using on western streams that are so small and winding that if there happened to be a fly fisherman standing in the water they'd be dead, and if there was a moose standing in the same place the boater would be dead.  Jet skis.  I'm just glad that I can spend a good part of the summer out here in Montana on a river where motorized craft are not allowed, and when I'm in Missouri in the winter it's nice to be able to put the boat in close to the house and not worry much about all the idiots, and to fish in comfort and not have to worry about finding a shuttle.  And there are still nice stretches of unboatable but floatable if you want to work at it streams nearby when I'm in MO in the summer.

I'm old.  If I'm lucky I have another 10 or 20 years left that I might be able to be on the rivers.  I'm afraid I'm not going to like what my choices are in another 10 years.  I saw the rivers before jetboats.  Seeing them now saddens me.

Be careful doing it that way.   If it stretches the piece...and you remove it and pound it out straight....it may not fit when you go to reinstall it, and you'll need to re-drill to fudge the hole.

Then the SOB will be rattling all the time.

I use wedges to straighten them while still attached to the foot.

Thx!   I’m headed out again and did it in 5 minutes.  Wedged the side and pounded an ax into the slot.  Worked like a charm!   It isn’t perfect but it’s good enough for gubment work👍
