Supposedly using the money taken in the sale to reduce the loan. I don't suppose boat dealers need short term loans though, or maybe they do and call it something else. Yeah I get the idea of "rigging", I was sailor in my youth, USN and all that, before rigging it's just a hull. I just did not associate "rigging" with the "floor plan". As I said this place is an education. Your floor plan and mine were the same. That is what we called it and all of our boats came with motors and trolling motors installed except for Lund they only came as a bare boat, trailers had to be ordered separately. I was unaware of all the changes. tjm 1
Bill Babler Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 Wrench described the floor plan deal really well. Depending on the boat manufacturer and the motors used they come PRE-Rigged That’s with all the main components. Those are floor plan boats that are there at times at no cost to the dealer or at times with a down payment and interest charges till time if sale. They are for the most part all predicated on the strength of the dealer. There are dozens of different floor plans. Pro-staff boats can also be included. Bass Kitty and Skeeter are much stronger companies than Caymas Not as big a problem for them to send those boats elsewhere I’m just spitballing, but I’m guessing Caymas needs the money for that inventory, maybe at a loss or they might come after the owners of BoatWrx for the balance tjm 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
Bill Babler Posted October 22, 2023 Author Posted October 22, 2023 On another note, Phoenix as I would assume other top manufacturers would, will completely factor rig your boat so it arrives at the dealer all but ready to go. Dealership just checks the build to make sure it’s as ordered and ready to hit the pond. They don’t install anything. This option is for boats that are purchased not boats at the dealership for sale. Lots of fishermen have a deal here or a deal there they can send those items to the factory for install on their new boat order pretty much no cost for installation. Where as if they are dealer installed there is a charge. tjm 1 http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com

A web search indicates Boatwrx is some kind of nationwide company with locations in several states and possibly headquartered in Ca. per zoom, but I didn't try to track it all down and make connections, what is not clear is if just the Mo locations are restructuring or if it is in all states. It's not even clear if all the Boatwrx are connected or if the name is like Smith or Jones and each Boatwrx is independent of all others. But FWIW, post #28 seems to shed some light on the Mo locations. https://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=1239334&page=2

Back in the day the finance company I worked for did floor plan financing for auto and appliance dealers. I think the term refers to the short-term financing of inventory where the inventory is collateral for the borrowing. It could be for RV, manufactured housing, equipment, anything. I don’t know squat about boat sales and financing, but I suspect that financing is what they’re referring to. Maybe the fully-rigged boats are floor planned differently from unrigged boats. tjm 1 John
fishinwrench Posted October 22, 2023 Posted October 22, 2023 I didn't understand that the question to be....."What is a floor plan". I believe the question was.... "What is a floor plan boat"? And THAT is the fancy decked out display rig you see on the showroom floor of a foo-foo boat dealership. Usually within spitting distance of the sales/finance office doorway. We have some darn fine businessmen here. Y'all wanna start a boat/motor dealership & finance company? I'll locate a piece of land, supply a coffee pot, and have donuts delivered daily. 👍 David Goddard, nomolites and cheesemaster 3

NO!😆 Hey man, these bass pro wannabee's don't care, they will pay it! I believe they'd pull their mom's out of the nursing homes, and pimp their kids on the Lolita Express before they'd risk not qualifying for the BPT at Rayburn. This $#!t is a sickness, and some of us might as well benefit from it. I mean the thought that somebody, somewhere might be able to outfish them is something that they absolutely can not tolerate. Doesn't matter that they are already 64k in the hole this year, and the season is coming to a close. There's always Next Year ! grizwilson and Champ188 1 1
