Has anyone witnessed that?   Were they floaters?

I've witnessed it a number of times.   Most recently last September, and sadly it was a derby that I helped organize and run.   Enough floated that it upset us pretty bad. We had another scheduled for the following week and we cancelled it.

Just finished weighing in a scoping contest today though.....and all seemed to swim off just fine.   22.32# to win 👍Screenshot_20240319-184638.png

Trout sink.   I’ve always heard the horror stories of summer bass tournament's having a bunch of dead fish the next day.  I’ve never witnessed it.  Has anyone witnessed that?   Were they floaters?

That's very true. We did find a 34" brown floating on Taneycomo a few winters ago, but floating trout are pretty rare it seems. You see plenty of them laying on the bottom though.

I think thats because trout live in shallower water and dont utilize their swim bladder

everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.

I read that trout sink because they have a pressure release valve on the swim bladder that some other fish don't have.

I bled off my pressure relief valve earlier, and ran everyone out of the kitchen including the dog. 👍

That's why I don't live in the country...😂

Here's a picture of the 30 pound bag.  Check out the tails...

May be an image of 3 people and text

That defys everything I thought I knew about March bass fishing.

You have guys in snowmobile suits holding bass that are clearly bedding......and they probably caught them suspended in the middle of a cove.    🥴 Just shoot me now !!!
