Went back earlier in the outgoing tide and it was on right away.  Caught 3 in about an hour and pulled out a couple more.   It’s just like bass fishing and the strike and pull hard.   Once the water level drops to certain point it’s over.  I’ll get there earlier tomorrow.
I thought I was pulling a bunch out and missing hook sets because their mouth is small.  Not the case!    Today they came up thrashing and head shaking with their mouth open.   The mouth is kind of hinged like a large mouth and opens real wide.

I let em go then go buy shrimp at the seafood stand🤷‍♂️.    I really should eat one.  I’ve had it before but I don’t think it was this fresh!

One of my favorite fish to eat. Butterfly it and stuff it with shrimp stuffing then bake it.

I watched a couple videos on filleting them.   Any tips on that?

Of course if you want to ruin a fishing trip just plan on keeping some to eat.  😂

If you want to stuff it, then gut and gill it and then cut straight down the lateral line to the bone and then cut along the backbone on both sides of the fish. It makes a pocket where you put your stuffing in and then bake it.

Here's what it looks like.

Went this morning an hour before high tide.  Birds diving everywhere, mullet jumping, but it was 42 degrees.  I even picked up a real small baitfish of some kind.  Real small!!
My bass guide trip on the Waccamaw river canceled today.  He said he would take my money, but the fishing would be horrible due to the northeast wind and the really cold temperatures.    I appreciate that, I have been out with him before and he’s a really good guy.

I had no bites while the tide was coming in, even though the birds were feasting    About 20 minutes after high I caught two dinks    Then I had 3 tails bit off of @Mitch fs fugitive so I left

I’ll be back tomorrow and its supposed to steadily warm the next few days   Shrimp for dinner @netboy.   Skillet ruins another trip😂

They have a lifetime warranty on that. You have to have both pieces though.

Hey these teeth will tear any bait a new one.
That flounder’s  got a head like all 12 of my X mother in laws!
