1) Catch Fish! Lots and Lots of fish on all forms of hook and line fishing.

2) Fish more with friends and family.

That’s it. I’ll keep up with numbers and species and stuff for sure. I’ll make trips hoping for this or that. I’ll still want “Benjamins” and “50 Burgers”, but I’m not going to get consumed by any one quest or goal.

I don't get too specific on my fishing goals.  But I'll probably get a MO non-rez license this year and maybe spend some time poking around Taney.

In that case maybe we can do a day on Stockton if I can get back on them next spring.

Whew, I was a little worried.  I especially like 2).  It's been way too long my friend, too long.

1) I have to complete (to me) a major milestone and once that is done (hopefully by end of Mar), I will relax a bit and enjoy more just simple fishing trips in 2025.

I do have some specific targets.

2) Over the last few years there has been an influx of exotic tropicals being caught in NC, NJ, and NY - I want to catch one in 2025.

2) Catch a redfish or new kingfish species

3) Catch a couple more swamp lifers

4) Still a glutton for punishment and will try and catch a new bullhead or madtom species in 2025

5) Catch a lifer shark, ray or skate preferably from the beach

After achieving what I thought were pretty aggressive (for me) goals in  2024, I'm relaxing my goals for 2025.  No trips planned.

As far as the PTO goes... I'm still carrying some over, but I used more than I accrued in 2024... between a parent dying, a family cruise to Alaska, a fishing trip (with Hamilton) to Louisiana, and a 2 week cruise to Antarctica with my wife...plus some minor additional trips here and there... I feel a bit "travelled out".

If I can find some local spots, I may try for Brown Bullhead, Red Shiner, and Rainbow Darter as some target fish.

I have really struggled with what to do for 2025. I just have almost zero motivation to fish.....I don't have any problem getting out of the local box and doing some travelling and fishing but locally I've just lost motivation.

I have multiple National Park trips scheduled with the wife and kids but none that I really have an opportunity or desire to fish on.

I think 2025 may just be a get the mojo back year.

I've felt that way lately as well.  So unlike me!  What gives?  I'm slowly gathering a few potential MO targets....and it's helping a bit.
