That's a good one.  The serious carp guys are more sophisticated nowadays.  They make up bait balls and shoot them out there with slingshots.

And camouflage up and use camouflage shelters so no one can find the hot spot.

Jeff

Sophisticated carpers don't say bait balls. - they say boilies

They don't use sling shots - they use catapults

They wont' chum with corn the day before they go fishing - they will feed the swim .😅😉

Yeah I guess if I become a carp fisher, I need to learn the lingo.  😃

I remember MoCarp arguing with me that when I'd say no one fishes for carp on Beaver, he'd tell me that was because they were camoed up and I would not see them.  Hopefully all is well with him, he hasn't posted in a long time.  @MoCarp

I watch them on Youtube over in the UK on heavily pressured fish.  But the carp hole I used to go to they would bite corn on a 16 scud hook, carolina rigged with a 3/16 bullet weight.  I couldn't keep up with 3 kids and my wife reeling them in one after the other.  Pay-to-fish lake called Suntan Beach.

And oh in the summer. Those north county babes in bikinis, swimming in that Missouri River oxbow slime water!!  Makes my loins tingle even today.😂

Especially if you plan on chasing them across the pond😉.

I still just toss out some corn and fish corn or worms. Not too sophisticated at the Folly household.

My thing for carp is a Wheaties ball.  Grap a handful out of the box, make a fist, dunk your fist quickly in and out of the water so the Wheaties are just wet enough to mold into a ball and you got a great carp bait.

- Be able to catch a Walleye while targeting them.

- Have a 20+ fish Smallmouth day on one of my Ozark stream trips planned.

- Get a kayak.

- Catch some big flatheads.

- Fulfill my guide trip plans on the Gasconade and White River… probably will also look into a Walleye guide..
