Daryk Campbell Sr Posted January 2 Posted January 2 I was able to fish my local pond and got 4 crappie. I believe they are white crappie, although the bars are not extremely evident. They were all on a fly/jig given to me by @JUNGLE JIM 1 Good start to 2025. Interesting topic, Y2K was 25 years ago. This is the fly/jig, im honestly not sure what it would fall under. It's an ultra light weight jighead but tied in a fly fashion. Ham Posted January 2 Posted January 2 Good deal! I would agree White Crappie. I still haven’t gotten a White Crappie on fly this year. dpitt, Quillback and Daryk Campbell Sr 3 Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

Way to go Daryk, It was a good day to start your count. You are right on Jim's jigs. Nice clean heads and color patterns. Fish catchers. I have some of them. Very creative in material use. Any of you waterfowlers out there he likes and can use some gadwall flank. I had been pretty good keeping him in some of those feathers. I don't know what is going on but have not shot a gadwall this season or the last one. They all look like white crappie to me as well. I usually count the dorsal spines to id since the barring can be subjective on some fish (e.g., breeding males). Whites typically have 5 to 6 dorsal spines and blacks have 8 or more. Daryk Campbell Sr, Quillback, Terrierman and 1 other 3 1
JUNGLE JIM 1 Posted Saturday at 11:46 AM Posted Saturday at 11:46 AM The head is a 1/48 custom chub from a one of a kind mold I designed and had made 15 years ago. My favorite ultralight jig. I call them float n fly jigs. Gadwall and mallard flank jigs are like magic when it comes to catching fish. Still hurting on my Gadwall supply if anyone has some. Would trade some hand ties for feathers. Daryk Campbell Sr, snagged in outlet 3 and Johnsfolly 3
Daryk Campbell Sr Posted Saturday at 12:31 PM Author Posted Saturday at 12:31 PM @Ryan Miloshewski can you help him out with some feathers? Know anyone who can? @JUNGLE JIM 1, I've been searching flr.the heads , and that explains why I cant find any. Do you still make them?
