Once you reach your full retirement age for social security ( 66 and a few months for me) you can earn unlimited salary with out penalty.

How much can a person continue to earn after "technically" retiring, and beginning to draw SS ?

Without penalty that is ?

Susie and I both retired in 2013. Me with 36 years on the railroad and her with 23 years teaching. It has been great with enough fishing and grandkids' programs to keep us busy. Had a couple buddies who went to 70 for reasons known to them. Thinking younger wives and multiple divorces.

Retirement:

Other than the wife, you don't need to listen to anyone or do what they want. Simply look them in the eye and say, "I'm retired."

You can wear comfortable clothes. Dress up is optional and only required when you want. You can even wear sneakers at funerals.

You can shop when everyone else is at work.

People underestimate you.

You can stand to one side and say, "In my day ..."

Senior Discounts!

You finally have a defense for forgetting something. Smile sheepishly and say. "Senior moment."

Late night owl? Enjoy.

Chime in if you want.

You can't remember what day of the week it is.

You find yourself thanking those that are still working for what they are doing because you remember being one of those assorted workers.

Is there a difference between not remembering, and not caring ?

If I actually cared then I'd always know. 😉
