Quillback Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 So sorry to hear of this. I've known Michael for a long time but can't say I knew him well. Years ago, he asked me about eagle watching on upper Table Rock he planned on taking his kids to see them. Like all of you, I wish I could've seen some sign of what was to come. We will miss you my friend! Johnsfolly, grizwilson, BilletHead and 1 other 3 1
ollie Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 This is sad news to say the least. Long time ago he came down for an olliefest and we fished with him. Didn't really know him other than that, but it is still sad that one of our own on here is gone. Seems to me like he touched several of you in different ways so I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew him. grizwilson, Daryk Campbell Sr, Johnsfolly and 2 others 3 1 1 "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!

gotmuddy Posted December 23, 2025 Posted December 23, 2025 I am still coming to terms with this news as well. When you hear people say "they never acted like anything was wrong" you always think...surely there was some sign right??? But no, at jigfest he seemed super happy, and was excited for taneyfest. He mentioned a bunch of times how he was bringing his wife and how he wanted everyone to meet her. BilletHead, N9BOW, Johnsfolly and 4 others 5 2 everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
grizwilson Posted December 24, 2025 Author Posted December 24, 2025 Peggy and I went down and spent some time with Lisa and Ian this afternoon. She and Michael had been together 36 years. She did not see this coming....she is as shocked as the rest of us. She said he enjoyed Jigfest so much and was looking forward to Taneyfest. She will need some time to heal, but thinks we need some type of "Celebration of Life" to help the family and "us" with closure. She is considering "Taneyfest" and will keep us posted as she gets a handle on things. Hold your loved ones tight, and keep those prayers coming. g BilletHead, N9BOW, Johnsfolly and 2 others 4 1 “If a cluttered desk is a sign, of a cluttered mind, of what then, is an empty desk a sign?”- Albert Einstein
