  1. Neat finds and interesting info Marty. Thanks for taking the time to share. There are still good people, many are here.
  2. What do you mean by shallow? I seemed to do ok with DD6's in orange craw. It's been a couple years, but I don't cover nearly as much water, and can say I was satisfied with the results.
  3. A couple years ago I did well on the tiny torpedo, brown crawdad color. I wasn't on Big River, but not really far from where you were fishing Harris.
  4. Well, I'm doing much better and am able to pick up where I left off. Here are photos from yesterday and today. the Fiberglass cloth had a white or silvery look to it. It disappears when the 2 part epoxy resin and hardener are applied.
  5. 70% of the guys I've met claim they can play a professional sport. Or that they are mechanics. They can take on most anyone. Etc. What that means to them, vs what it means to me, are vastly different.
  6. Almost exactly what the told me in '95. I truly hope you heal well, and they are able to get you home soon.
  7. 17/100. Someone else didn't study fractions. LOL. I even went to St Louis Public schools. Bybthe way, the extra half was on his uncles side.
  8. Does that mean you bought some? LOL
  9. It's a double edged sword for me. When I first started swelling, no one heard of it, and it took a long time for any real diagnosis, and still no treatment options other than keep the feet elevated. I figured out the infections because I would be hospitalized with heavy I V antibiotics after summer camps and weekend campouts in the summer. Rarely happened in the winter. Bacterial infection from the lakes/rivers. I have to wear waders no matter how hot it is outside if I get into the water. Not many are made for heavy swollen calves and feet. Now, due to so many breast cancer patients, lymphademia and cellulitis is more common. Doctors have more experience, and more treatment options are available. It's a great thing for me, but it's with great cost for others. Double edged sword. I've been able to control it with compression stockings, the ones elderly people have to wear. Really thick and strong prescription style. Hopefully I can learn some new tricks and get control back, and fit into muck boots and waders. Sorry Oneshot, not trying to one up you. I do hope your condition is figured out and you stay healthy. Just know, you're not alone.
  10. It was 1995 when I was diagnosed wirh lymphademia or lymphadema, however you would like to spell it. My right leg was swollen, got infected, they thought at first it was a tick bite. Then, possibly a blood clot, then ruled out as a staph infection, and the antibiotics worked, the swelling should go down in 6 weeks. Well, the swelling never did go down on its own, took some therapy, learned what little was known, and quickly realized he hard way, multiple times, I could not get into the water or risk nasty and possibly deadly infections. I was 16. Fast forward to now, I am struggling to keep the swelling under some kind of control, due to the surgeries after the accident. Gonna see a new specialist in a couple weeks. Hopefully wirh medical advances I can get to look more like a normal person, instead of the elephant man.
  11. End results were very satisfactory. I bought a new pre seasoned cast iron grate but wasn't diligent enough to heat and season it myself. My skins stuck, and I couldn't flip them.
  12. Trying the vortex method for chicken wings on the Weber charcoal grill.
  13. Never used a pellet smoker, but recently inherited an electric smoker. I'm happy with it. I bought a thermapro thermometer set that has 4 probes. I can see the ambient temp on multiple levels and meat temperature on my phone. Got some wings on the weber charcoal right now.
  14. I got through.
  15. Just playing around this was created. Unfortunately I foul hooked what I believe to be a common shiner. Correct me if I'm wrong. 16 hook (I believe) olive marabou, yellow micro chenille, red micro thread. Non weighted, although I think my next will be. Will add photos later. Site blocking me.
  16. Found this on Facebook, thought maybe some on here would be interested.
  17. @fishinwrench, @BilletHead, @Mitch fyour test results are positive.
  18. I'm looking to see if anyone has brass beads or possibly other colors that they are not using. Or any supplies for that matter. I'm willing to buy at a fair price, just figured if someone has supplies that are unwanted or unused, I would ask.
  19. I think they are a neat product. I like the name and they way they were named and produced. Good job.
  20. Good idea.... 👍
  21. I haven't caught a drum in many years. The ones I caught were in the Mississippi River downtown St Louis. They would hit pretty hard, fight for about 3 seconds, and it was over. Might as well be reeling in a plastic bag.
  22. I was curious if either one was a member. I'm following their journey. Very good camera they have.
  23. Wow, I didn't see anyone fishing it when we were there. Family trip, and I usually don't even try to fish then. Cool looking fish.
