  1. The center contact looks to be corroded right now. You can try a pencil eraser to clean it up. Theynwork great and being on top of a pencil, you can get into narrow areas.
  2. Bro, I've been living that life for many years. They tell me I'll get bored once the kids move on, 22, 15, and 12 year olds. I laugh in their face. I have so many options that need to be explored. And on top of that, I have so many other states that need to be explored.
  3. She has insurance with a standard company. I have enough UIM if hers would be exhausted. I don't know all of the details, only my side. I do appreciate your sentiment.
  4. And I believe that. Day by day, I've already been told it gets worse before it gets better. But on a good note, no crosses were needed on the side of the road. Thank you all. I would be lying if I said I haven't been emotional. I just need a place to vent last night.
  5. Just for clarification, it happened on Hwy B, between 21 and hwy EE. Things are definitely much better than they would have appeared. It may not have been Hillsboro limits but very near.
  6. Good job. I don't believe I could have that done in 3 hours.
  7. Guys, I was in a really bad car accident yesterday (Sunday) afternoon. My right femur is broken and I had surgery on it this afternoon. My left foot is also broken. Going to have surgery on it in a couple of days when some of the swelling goes down. I'm in need for nothing. We have great insurance all around. My 15 year old son was driving with his permit on a two lane highway in Hillsboro MO. He has a couple scratches and bruises. The other driver was also minor injuries per my understanding. The oncoming vehicle crossed lanes and hit us head on at 65mph. Each vehicle. The other driver was in our lane to keep from hitting approaching deer. Needless to say, I won't have my beloved canoe finished in my goal of 1 year. But I will work on getting it ready for next spring. I know we have people who see powers in spirituality in many different ways. If you can find a moment tto send out positivity in any fashion, I will be eternally grateful.
  8. Yes, I cut out the damaged strips and have one already gluing in place. Replacing 3 strips. I tried using a spring clamp to hold the replacement in place, and cracked a strip on the other side.
  9. But aren't they all Alligator Gar? Lol
  10. Lots of options in the area. I've never used the lodging options as I live here. The rates do increase when there is a game. Sometimes there may be a convention also and that will reduce availability. Keep valuable items out of the car, and be aware the stadium does now have metal detectors.
  11. Sounds to me like it's not repairable, and it may be time to sell it. You just happen to be in luck, I'm willing to take it off your hands, just a shame that they are only going for $150 nowadays. LOL. Sounds like you've done the hardest part. Keep at it and let us know how it's going.
  12. A stinky fish is better than no fish.
  13. I followed his build. The Little Auk. He did amazing. Glad you got to try it out. @laker67I expect to be around 50 pounds give or take. It is all glued. I milled each strip. The brown is Western Red Cedar, and the red is Eastern Red Cedar. I am curious about the nets. Did you weave the ropes or purchase them? If I'm using incorrect terminology, I apologize. I'm no woodworker myself. Just alot of encouragement from many other builders and good directions from books/YouTube/and Facebook Groups.
  14. I think it's amazing they can see, and remember their lines. I had a hard time deciding where I thought theynwould consider going. We have the luxury of higher view perspective due to the high mount camera. I wonder if that is a setup where one person steers and the other operates the throttle. That would add even more strategy. I'm not that kind of adrenaline junkie. But I liked the camera view.
  15. Many still do, but as always the few ruin it for the many.
  16. I'm more of a stream guy than lake guy. But I tend to catch the bluegill more in areas they can be protected. Tree roots, grassy areas, cut out banks, etc. I know crickets were mentioned before, but a couple YouTubers I follow swear by the gulp minnows on a 1/16 Oz jighead.
  17. As far as the bowfishing goes, I really think it has reached its peak in popularity. I am on a few groups, and I see a dramatic decrease in activity on the groups and YouTube videos. Damage that has been done cannot be reversed. I also believe that most people who are pulling the bowstring have no idea of the fishing laws, nor do they care. I bought one myself, with intentions of taking some Asian Carp in my local waters. But I have a hard time to justify killing with no use of the bounty. So my outfit collects dust. If I could use the meat, and I know it's edible, but don't really want to clean them, then I would consider.
  18. Excellent trip.
  19. I've been using CXX for a few years. I don't fish nearly as often or hard as most. I have the smaller spools, 4lb and 8lb. I have nothing negative to say about it.
  20. I wouldn't turn much of anything down if someone else was eating/serving it. But I wouldn't just go out an buy/make just anything.
  21. Interesting you should post about this. We went Wednesday. this was a spoke reel made from a bicycle rim. About 1920's if i remember correctly. Some vintage lures. a sample of the arrow heads on display. I really enjoyed the facility. It had so much more than I was expecting. These are only some of the things that I found interesting enough to post. Many military items from a helicopter you can explore completely, to a tank along with a HumVee. Cars from all decades in a well kept indoor collection. A video discussing Little Boy and Fat Man along with what I believe were replicas. Even a room with all kinds of torture devices if that is your thing. The rooms were large. The building did not look like much.
  22. Just a couple of the wurst jokes on this thread.
  23. Interesting. I haven't seen any. I would not have been ok to see one either before this article.
