  1. Good luck JD, take no prisoners. D.C.
  2. Wonderful offer! Please, if you ever have the itch to offer again, don't hesitate. I'm in St Louis area, it's a bit of a drive for me. I am also hoping to take advantage of the high water around here.
  3. This story is from 2011. I am no engineer, butI believe that unless there was a valley directly sending the water spoken about, it would not be anywhere near the doomsday the journalist wrote about. I wonder who paid for the story.
  4. Got my vote. The title on top are the initials P.H. hope that helps.
  5. West City Park in Festus is not Flooded, would really be devastating to very many more if it got that high. I am giving first hand knowledge, passed the lake/ pond this morning. Let me know if you go, may beable to join you. Arnold park is all under. The Elks have a pond if you are a member.
  6. During the new years flood. Telegraph Rd was the only way in and out of the city. It was very close to closing down.
  7. While my most haunting "one that got away" story is nothing as detailed or large as some others. I believe the pit in the stomach feels very similar. Hardest strike I can ever remember, was the one that I never got to see. Fought for a few seconds, then it was gone.....no line snap, or straight hook. Just no fish.
  8. Great report. Thanks for sharing.
  9. Darn shame. I always liked Cabellas better than Bass Pro.
  10. I was half asleep when writing this, it should have been "popper " baits, not "power" baits.
  11. Sorry, this post was saved in my phone, Uploaded on accident. I already got a ton of great info.
  12. Many people have mentioned power baits, but I thought of Chief when I bought the package of Bass Pro Select Poppers. He has mentioned them and kids in the same sentence many times. This evening I took my two boys to the creek and mentioned the Poppers to the boys. My 10 year old decided to try one. He caught 2 spotted bass. He caught the big fish of the evening.
  13. Serious question, I read a lot about people using a leader of 'x' when using 'y' fishing line. I have read alot over the years, and other than dropping to smaller line for break offs, or using steel leaders I have always wondered why not use the "leader line" as your spooled line? I am sure that I am missing something. I currently have p-line cxl on my reels and only know the improved clinch knot by heart. What are your reasons for using a leader?
  14. I like the spook Jr, and Zarra puppy l for creek fishing.
  15. C4F, I still say "Homey don't ..." I guess I am late to the game. I still remember Homey D' Clown, Fireman Bill, Handi man etc. Lol. I will always be using phrases from that show. At least once a month, something comes out of my mouth from In Living Color.
  16. I applaud you for acknowledging him.
  17. I would buy one.
  18. You guys really made me feel alot better about myself.... coom by ya my lord...
  19. So, why not run the same line all of the way? Dave explained his reason, why use fluoro? I apologize if these questions seem redundant, text is very unemotional. I am sincerely interested, as I have always just used straight line to the 'bait'. If using braid, but a fluro leader, why not use only fluoro instead? Side note, what makes the sensitivity so much stronger/ better? Thanks for all the replies so far. In the end, I know I will just have to expirament on my own. I would just like time have a leg up.

  21. Excellent. I need to get on the St Francois, get me a darter.
  22. I was given a postcard flyer with these on it. I really considered it, beautiful collection. I have collected lighters for 25 years, cheap and not so cheap. These would definitely be on my wall, just got a few kids to feed first.
  23. Brand new battery, group 27dc, always kept charged on a maintainer. The same with my previous battery, only replaced because it was 5 years old. This was the second trip out with this battery. Not sure of previous usage/ handling of the motor. I have had it for about 5 years, used it possibly 10-12 times. Is there any hope of salvaging the motor? Or is a new one in order? If new, I would like to go with a 55lb thrust at bass pro, unless there are any better ideas. I have $150 worth of gift cards from work bonuses to Bass Pro, the motor I looked at online was $219.00. Thoughts, suggestions? Thank you for the input so far.
