  1. How stinkin' old is he anyway?
  2. I have a question for that last dude..... How do you talk that long without ever saying anything ? πŸ₯Ί
  3. This☝️ is a real thing with temperate bass. And in my experience it has only 2 predictable periods, both of which would require a lengthy float in total darkness unless your access point is within easy walking distance of the run where the fish are congregated at that particular time. Bryant is probably the better choice if you are specifically targeting Stripers, since it's easier to begin down low.....and access hop your way up. It will likely take 3 consecutive days to find a sweet spot unless you can get some inside intel. The advantage leans heavily towards the folks that live nearby, so if you know a few......start picking their brains.
  4. Your meter is spinning away. Veggies aren't that expensive. If you're gonna pay for sunlight then may I suggest that you rethink your choice of crop..... to something with a higher monetary yield. πŸ€”
  5. When the hats are available I want one. πŸ‘
  6. Cool project πŸ‘ My grandpa started a wood strip rowboat in his basement. Framed with ash, and I'm not sure what kind of wood the strips were. He worked on it sporadically, in spurts, and it took pretty much my whole childhood for him to complete it. Once it was finally done it looked really cool...... but then he discovered that he couldn't get it through the door that led outside. So it was either chisel away 10"x40" of concrete foundation, or make a giant bookshelf out of it. A bookshelf it became. πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ πŸ˜‚
  7. One persimmon seed filled turd, or ".80 possum" (80% of a whole possum).....is probably more than you get paid for every 10 posts of mine that you delete.
  8. Sticking to things where age and experience is a benefit will keep those kids respecting you. I took a group of six 19-24 year olds for 476.80 in a poker game last night. Hey, it is was THEIR idea! πŸ˜‰
  9. Having never sampled it, I'm pretty sure that groundhog is something to put on the list of "Things I can eat if I'm starving". I'd probably choose it over a coyote or a cocker spaniel. Nobody is looking forward to it, but there may come a time when protein trumps everything else.....and whaddya know, there's a groundhog. 😐
  10. Nice! πŸ‘ We're gonna need a better story than just.... "caught a fish today" though. C'mon now !
  11. You've got 2 guys sitting in the back and the boat still planes out GREAT......So it can't be THAT MUCH weight.
  12. It's open water, but the ramp and parking lot has 2" of solid ice on it. We got 3/4" of sleet and then 3" of snow on top of that. It MIGHT be doable by Sunday.
  13. There's riding a bike. Throwing a frisbee. Operating a clutch on a manual tranny. Shooting a slingshot. And others, I'm sure.... But the one that surprised me last night....My kid was cleaning out her book bag from school and pulled out WHAT??? A Duncan Yo-Yo πŸ€“ Now there's a blast from the past. I said "Gimme that thing". I flat blew their minds, you'd have thought I had been doing it everyday for years......but it's been over 40 since I even touched one. Walk the dog, Rock the cradle, Roundy-Round, Wrap the waist, Flying Nunchuck........ It's still there, baby ! πŸ‘ I had forgotten how lethal they could be😁 Who needs the hassles of a CCW when a Duncan Imperial is in your pocket? Bust their face wide open and then strangle them to death in a hot-second ! πŸ˜‰
  14. A pound of gasoline won't even weedeat around my mailbox. I'm probably better off throwing the gas on the weeds. πŸ˜‚
  15. And while you're at it...... please explain to ME why I should care. πŸ€”
  16. Probably best to fire it up every month or so to keep things circulating. Otherwise that SOB will fail on ya when you actually need it.
  17. I'm gonna hit a certain bluff bank with fly gear during the next nice weather spell. Had a blast with them last year about this time. There's undeniably something about that 7' zone on this lake. And it doesn't seem to matter what part of the lake you're on.
  18. Hmm.πŸ€” You'd rather bend a prop shaft than fold a prop blade ? Not me. πŸ™‚
  19. Actually it's the Mercury DEALERS that make a killing off of them.......But they'll never tell ya the truth. Mostly because they don't care to know, and are better off not knowing.
  20. Your Helix 10 needs to be powered up from your cranking battery. If the installer tapped into the TM circuit to power up the sonar unit then interference is unavoidable.
  21. As far as I know Tohatsu and Honda are independent of each other. Mercury uses Tohatsu powerheads on their "portable" outboards, but with Mercury marine ignition and charging systems.......which IMO is ignorant because nobody designs better ignition/charging systems than the Japs do. Finding a Japanese outboard with ignition failure is as rare as finding a dinosaur bone in an owl ball. Whereas Mercury has historically always had the most pathetic ignition/charging systems in the industry.
  22. Mercury and Yamaha got divorced many years ago. Shortly after the Mariner line was discontinued.
  23. There are no hills to climb on the water.
