Don't let Ham fool ya. The simple truth is he doesn't want to struggle trying to find a sure bite on Bull when those silly slimy trout bite every day. When water temps at Bull hit the mid 60's he'll be there!

I've been off recently and have been able to take advantage of the warmer conditions we've been having. Like others that have been reporting the majority of my success has been on the ned. Catching between 15 - 25 each time with a few nice fish in the 16 - 19 inch range. Lots of fish in the 10 -12 inch size. Without saying too much about location ( no one seems to post about this areaπ€) the water temps in the area I've been seeing have been between 46 - 52 degrees depending on time of day and location. Most of the fish have been in the 5 - 15 foot range. Main point I am trying to offer is that the rock is a large lake and water temps can vary greatly. The ridiculous occurrence I am talking about is what I witnessed at the ramp yesterday. When I pulled up to the dock my boat I saw two guys in the parking lot who had finished taking their boat out of the water loading a net with the fish they had kept. I wasn't sure why but it became apparent shortly. They started back down the bank and proceeded to release the fish into the water. Unfortunately, either due to the stress of being in their well or time they were held out of water they were having difficulty swimming away. So much so that one of them grabbed a stick on the bank and started poking at them ( I guess that is fish CPR π). I say this simply to point out if you want to keep fish for the table, then keep them. If you only want to keep fish in your boat is to show off at the ramp then do the right thing and take a picture and release the fish immediately. What's the point of harming/killing fish if you don't plan on keeping them π

When does school start??? Its gotta be soon. Cooler weather and less people, hope we can all wait. π

C'mon Ham. Those were some good memories. If you remember the water temps were probably in the lower 50's. It would have been a very cold dip if things had gone wrong. Rayburn and Toledo Bend can certainly offer some treacherous conditions but I'm ready to go back anytime. At least we learned the advantage of trailering long distances to be on the "correct" side of the lake depending on wind direction and speed.

This is what happens when you, your dad, and your wife's relatives give you a few props over the years. The larger props shown in the picture from left to right are: a 19" pitch brass prop with a mercury hub I ran on an older model 85hp mercury. asking $75. A black painted stainless steel Yamaha prop (will fit mercury as well) 13 3/8 diameter & 23" pitch, asking $100. A stainless steel Yamaha prop with 21" pitch, asking $80. And another black/stainless steel prop for Yamaha or mercury with 13 3/8 diameter and 23" pitch, asking $120. None are flawless but all are in running condition and would be great for immediate use or as a spare. The smaller props I have limited info on. The black stainless steel prop is a 10 1/2 diameter with 11" pitch and I think it has an Evinrude hub. The others are aluminum and brass and what they fit I don't know. I'm guessing the smaller aluminums are for small hp evinrudes but I have no clue on the brass props. Asking $60 for the stainless steel prop, $20 each for the aluminum and make me an offer on the brass props. Send me a pm, text, or call me at 417-576-6722. If you need a close up picture of any just let me know. Thanks

I hate to be stating the obvious but if you have any concern of someone pulling the pin that locks your hitch to the truck there is a very simple solution. Purchase a hitch pin with a lock. The cost is minimal but the piece of mind is priceless!! Nothing is foolproof when you're dealing with low life jerks but it should make it a little harder for them to ruin a good day of fishing.

All Sold!! Thanks

One left. Thanks again for the responses.

I've got two left. Thanks to all that are looking. The tag I showed with rod details had a bad glare in one area. It says these have ALPS Titanium guides where the glare is. Thanks again.
