This is the type of post I miss. If we just stick to fishing and food we will all be better off. Ill keep this place in my back pocket looks good on their website https://squareup.com/store/area71/ merry Christmas and thanks
Just my 2 cents but I wouldn't waste expensive keitechs on an a rig. I've never thrown one myself but in my opinion a keitech wouldn't make a difference on that contraption.
I've never targeted crappie at the rock but the ones I've seen caught in my boat are always really nice ones. There are some big ones in the lake for sure.
For me personally the fall always seems to be tricky. You always hear find or follow the shad. That part of the equation is easy. The problem with that is there is so many of those suckers swimming around that its easy pickings for the bass. They have no need to eat my junk because its like an all you can eat buffet open 24 hrs. I end up just putting the trolling motor down and cover water, they could be anywhere anyway.
I know some might not be able to swallow their pride and fish live bait but go buy some nightcrawlers. If you think August is tough wait till September rolls around, you'll really be scratching your head.
I hope this doesn't mean you will be retiring from posting on the forum. It goes without saying your reports weather or not your guiding are pretty special to everyone.
With the hot weather and high water temps I would think it would be oxygen depletion related as the cause. Nothing out of the ordinary with high heat. Although it has happened in the past I think the words "fish kill" are used sometimes a little loosely. Just my 2 cents don't want to start arguments
I got to watch his second day when he had the big lead. He was able to just graph all day and only fished a little. From his comments I knew he was very confident in finishing strong.
