  1. Dave I have fished each a couple of times. I would be inclined to answer that they are better float streams. You can wade some spots more so the Niangua on the sections around Barclay or Bennetts. However those sections are well above where Wrench is talking about.
  2. Unlike in MD streams we found lots of darters in these pools. They appeared to be all of the same species. Livie #85 (L) Fantail Darter, Etheostoma flabellare Even dad caught one 😉 (#104)
  3. Able to get to some new water or really just a bunch of clear pools in a vanishing stream in VA. Was targetting some montane species. Livie caught the only targetted species of the trip. We really tried to find more amongst the high number of eastern blacknose dace. I did not expect that much competition 😒. Livie #84 (Lifer) Mountain Redbelly Dace, Chrosomas oreas
  4. I'm sure they have this written somewhere: What does Captain Kirk and toilet paper have in common? They both search Uranus for Klingons.🤣
  5. Just got back from a trip to VA and Livie harvested her best cantaloupe to date. Sure beats the baseball sized ones from last year. We'll see what they taste like.
  6. @Mitch f posted about stopping there. I've been by there a couple of times but never stopped.
  7. Have literally caught 100s of browns on a F9 or F11 floating Rapala over the years.
  8. You have those guys figured out for sure Dave! 53... WOW! I haven't caught one🙄. I hope that I can get out your way and get a tutorial.
  9. If I ever used corn for trout it had to have been a long time ago. Also no cheese or Vienna sausages either. Soaked a bunch of redworms or drifted minnows when I used live bait for them. Used a lot of powerbait and salmon eggs during the urban catch and keep seasons. Have been using corn for carp and buffalo lately.

    What's Cooking?

One of my favorites. We have been on the go a lot. So not many meals at home😒
  11. Doohhh!
  12. Probably had to take a bath🤣
  13. Wonder where you got that intel😉
  14. We use peanut butter and probably have a 50 to 60% catch rate. That goes up when we have the trap set in a pathway or have items to funnel them into the trap. "..have the trap set in a pathway or have items to funnel them into the trap." Worked for raccoons and cats as well.
  15. I caught one in Kansas and those that we caught in AR. She fished with me in KS and in Mingo, but no other spots in MO. I don't have any catch records of a creek chub for her, but may have overlooked it. I didn't have it on her annual fish list until yesterday.
  16. What a monster. These guys just love our lakes and rivers 😒. Shoot em all! att Neuling of Perryville shot a monstrous 125-pound, 5-ounce fish at Perry Lake. Perry County bowfisherman catches world record sized bighead carp Matt Neuling of Perryville shot a monstrous 125-pound, 5-ounce fish at Perry Lake. JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) confirms Matt Neuling of Perryville is the latest state record holder under alternative methods after shooting a colossal 125-pound, 5-ounce bighead carp. Neuling was bowfishing with a friend July 24 when shot the mammoth at Lake Perry. “I was out with my buddy early that morning when we both shot what we thought was a 30-pound grass carp,” Neuling recalled. “My buddy’s arrow pulled out, but mine shot straight through and stayed in there.” Neuling said his friend was eventually able to shoot another arrow into the fish, but they were shocked at just how massive their fish turned out to be. “We just couldn’t believe it,” he said. “We knew what type of fish it was, but we had never seen one that size. This thing is a straight up monster. A five-gallon bucket could easily fit in its mouth. If my buddy wasn’t with me, there was no way I could have pulled it out of the water.” The carp was weighed on a certified scale in Perry County. It’s the eighth state record fish recorded in 2021. This catch also beats the existing bowfishing world record of 104-pounds, 15-ounces. “It’s just crazy,” laughed Neuling. “You know, I set that goal of breaking a record every time I go out to fish, but I never would have thought I’d be breaking a record with this fish.” MDC Fisheries staff took the head of the fish in an effort to age it, while Neuling used other parts of the fish for catfish bait. “When fish get this size, we estimate it to be at least 10-years-old,” said MDC Fisheries Program Specialist Andrew Branson. “Bighead carp are an invasive fish from Asia. This particular fish is an example of just how well an invasive species can thrive if given the opportunity. We encourage people to harvest these fish to help remove them from our waters.” Missouri state record fish are recognized in two categories: pole-and-line and alternative methods. Alternative methods include: throwlines, limb lines, bank lines, jug lines, spearfishing, snagging, snaring, gigging, grabbing, archery, and atlatl.
  17. Livie #82 (Lifer) Eastern Blacknose dace Need ruling from @Ham and @FishnDave. Livie caught a creek chub but I failed to recognize that this was the first that she caught this year. So no photos were taken. Allow this as #83 or we need to go catch another one?
  18. Just don't give hime a name, then it becomes a pet 😅. My daughter has a shirt that says "If it has a name it's a pet. If not make it into jerky!" That is her PETA shirt - people for eating tasty animals.
  19. So little flow compared to when we were there. How did Eric do?
  20. Can't help but think the following after reading this. Officer Obie looked at the 27 8x10 color glossy photos with the circles and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one and then looked at the seeing eye-dog..... And he came to the realization that this was just another case of American Blind justice and the judge was not going to look at the 27 8x10 color glossy photos with the circle and arrows and a paragraph on the back of each one ... 🤣
  21. And yet you bass fish like 10s of millions of others 🤣
  22. If I didn't think that you were just trolling I would give you a response.
  23. Let say that you had an employee that you paid to send to a conference with boat and engine manufacturers and they were to represent you and your business. Once they got there they would bad mouth you about how bad you are at your job and as a person. There may not be any fact checking in their claims, but it was based upon their feelings. As a result you lose credibility and likely business based upon that lack of respect. I would assume that would piss you off. That is how I feel about some of the protests from our athletes.
  24. I have never found a bobcat skull, but usually find lots of bones for various creatures, raccons, opossum, mice, deer, foxes, etc. in field and woods. I agree that these are very common animals. The point is that some folks do find the bones of those less abundant species. Yet know one has ever found a large ape skull in any area that supposedly have sasquatch like creatures. I would love to think that there is a large bipedal creature out there that is new to science. So I am not opposed to the possiblity of it's existence. I always go back to the infamous video of the sasquatch walking into the woods. I always wonder why they never went over and filmed the footprints of the "creature" or followed it into the woods.
  25. A man brought his sick teenage son to the doctor. The Dr tells him that his son has mono and that he should stay away from the rest of the family until he recovers. The man tells the Dr that his son may have been fooling around with their maid. The Dr says then she will have to be isolated as well. At this point the man tells the Dr that he might have been fooling around with the maid as well. Again the Dr says that he will have to stay away from everyone. The man says that since being with the maid he has kissed his wife. Your wife says the Dr now we're all in trouble! 🤣
