I think that I had one on for a short time before it was off. Caught a 38 lb wahoo on my next bait. Can't complain since I think that they are one of the best eating fish out there. Congrats @gotmuddy on some nice fish!

I'm with Flysmallie in zero and in fact even less than zero since I rarely float any Ozark waters for any real distance . That's a direct effect of not having a canoe or kayak. Now if you asked how far would you travel to catch at least one trout in each designated trout park, Taneycomo, and designated trout stream in Missouri (plus at least one not designated anywhere) then I would answer over 2,200 miles . -
Many of those people are "fly fishing" the popular locations. There may be some fishermen amongst them that will catch fish.

I wade fish a lot and approach from the bank and not from a boat. I will wear waders as much for protection from walking through brush as I will for staying dry. When I wet wade in the warmer weather I will have a thin pair of long underwear under a light pair of quick dry pants. Again this is for brush, particularly poison ivy or nettles and some resistance to ticks. Many of the creeks that I fish don't have well beaten trails along the banks.

I have caught a fish at least three or four times just as I was going to get checked. Do these folks go to the same training that wait staff do where they learn to come to table just as you have a mouth full?

I have been checked much more here in Maryland than in MO. During crappie spawn at the lake outside of. Columbia lake they will check every person along the bank. They are there at least two or three times a week. It's a popular spot so likely to have some folks breaking the law. I don't have any issue with being checked whether it looks like I am doing something wrong or if it is a random check. They need people to see that they will check you. They also catch quite a few folks.

My daughter and I would love fishing the urban lakes after Feb 1 when there was enough ice to ice fish safely. Usually used #16 to #18 treble hooks with three red salmon eggs. Lots of fun😁.

Or they could be sending you texts of their Western trout fishing trips while your in the work meat grinder😌. Gives us something to look forward to when we are done working.
