  1. Looks delicious!
  2. Post a photo if you do😉
  3. Quick update - Livie sat out Monday afternoon with the crossbow and the buck came in quartering to almost broadside but never gave her a full broadside shot where his front shoulder was not covering his vitals. If it were firearm season, she may have pulled the trigger on him and busted his front shoulder. Sat yesterday afternoon and he was a no show. Had a doe and two fawns in front of her.
  4. Sounds like a fun day to me! Congrats on a few pretty fish!
  5. I saw a similar article about that fish. They just get big and ugly. Still would love to catch one that size. Probably won't happen since I am not willing to pay to try for giant carp like that guy. If I get to Ireland for a conference next spring, I may have to stay an extra day and pay to try for some native rough fish while I am there.
  6. We should all live by this statement.

Last, I will say about the Chargers. The Chargers have lost to three sub 500 teams, (Rams, Saints, and Jaguars; combined record of 10-21) and have not beat a team with a winning record (Falcons, Browns, Broncos, Texans, and Raiders; combined record 13-35-1). As a friend of mine used to say; being average means that you are the worst of the best, the best of the worst, and the cream of the crap🤣 Surprisingly all of the AFC East teams have winning records, even the Jets are 6-4. Who would have guessed that at this point of the season. Whereas, the NFC south may have a 9-8 or 8-9 team win that division. Currently the Bucs are even at 5-5 and leading the way.
  8. I don't think that it could be called OllieFest if there wasn't some rain or a threat of it and windy conditions 😅 Good luck to all of the participants next Sunday! Will someone beat Buzz this year?
  9. With deer like those on that club property, it is likely just a matter of time for her to tag a big one.
  10. We haven't seen that piebald since last year. Also haven't heard rumors that he was harvested, but I don't have a lot of hunting contacts either. I didn't have binos when we saw that second buck. He either is a big 6 pt or has really small brow tines. Either way he is a legal deer in MD.
  11. @mic I hope that you and yours have a Happy Thanksgiving as well! I have the relaxed fit stretch pants all ready to go 😉🤣! Also Happy Turkey day to everyone else on OAF!

Not sure Rick if I would call a .500 team a good team. Let's agree to say that they are inconsistent per their talent and stink less than the 15 teams that have less than a .500 record 😅.
  13. She was excited about a tall spike that we were seeing back in Sept/Oct. That changed when we saw this guy. Then Sue saw this buck one day while I was in PA and Livie was in VA last week. Then we saw him from the house Sat. We hadn't seen any bucks until this guy. So did not sit in the blind 🙄. Would have been an 18 yd broadside shot if we had sat in the blind.
  14. @JestersHK Tell her congrats from Livie and I! She stuck it out and ended with a great hunt! Making great memories with the kiddo! Livie is holding out for a buck. We saw a nice one from the house on Sat and sat yesterday but only does and fawns.
  15. Really hope that they think about this and don't do it.
  16. We use that setup also for fishing in the surf. Photo of a clearnose skate caught on that set-up.

    What's Cooking?

We had a take on bangers and mash. Used italian brats with sun-dried tomato in the mix. I carmelized some yellow onion. Made a beef mushroom gravy and mashed potatoes.

@Gavincongrats on those ducks! Looks like your club work paid off.
  19. Add autumn olive to that list.
  20. As much as these fish may need to be controlled, I'm not a fan of targetted release of a viral biocontrol agent. https://www.fieldandstream.com/conservation/researchers-consider-using-herpes-reduce-invasive-carp/
  21. I see photos like this and I remember a story. A man and his grandson went fishing. After a long day they didn't catch a single.fish. The man said to his grandson, "When I was your age, we would catch so many fish that they were like cord wood stacked on the dock." The boy looked at the man and said, "Grandpa if you let some fish go back then maybe we would have caught some today."

    Sounds good as well!
  23. To continue the sentiments @Daryk Campbell Sr keep pushing on the mend buddy. There is plenty of time to get back to fishing. And if you you get your old seat back in @gotmuddy boat you'll likely get to help push off from the gravel bars😅. So you'll need to back in peak condition.
  24. Congrats on getting some ducks with the Citori!

    What's Cooking?

Looks great Marty! Is that cilantro on top? Cilantro is starting to taste like soap to Livie so we have to be careful with using it.
