I went through a stage of chasing them and then tried them on a fly. I never had any luck even though I was catching them on bait right there. I think it's due to extremely muddy water I was fishing in. All of the videos I've seen of guys catching them on flies was in clear water. These back water sloughs off of the Mississippi are past muddy, it's more like suspended silt. Never got a sniff. -

My in-laws had a bunch of fainting goats at the farm. They kept the ‘Billy in a pen behind the biggest barn because he stunk so bad. -
Did you hear the one when a young hunter shot two squirrels and took them to the taxidermist. He said I want these stuffed. And the taxidermist said you mean mounted? And the young Hunter said no I want them side-by-side. 😂

That was totally cool. Never saw that before. I love how a furled leader casts but it does shed water on a false cast so don’t false cast near your fish. It can spook them. Especially trout and saltwater flats fish. Your fly can also snag the furled leader when casting. Neither one is a deal killer. If you want to straighten heavy mono use friction to warm it up. Pull it back and forth quickly on your blue jeans works or put it in warm water.

In the early days of fly fishing “used” flies were thought to be better than the same pattern brand new. To the point of giving them to others to fish them first then get them back and use them. -
While I love my 1100 the 2nd bankruptcy since 2018 might make think twice before buying anything from them. But I’m no banker.

I knew a guy that fed his catfish with food in a coffee can. He could walk on his dock and rattle the the food in the can and the catfish would come from all over the pond right to him. Swimming with their whiskers out of the water like Pavlovs dog.
