  1. Attention Norfork Tailwater trout anglers! Please see the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers press release below regarding work and hydropower unit (turbine) outages at Norfork Dam. While work is ongoing, the siphon (used for minimum flow) will run continuously and they will use conduits (i.e., sluice gates) that run under Norfork Dam to make additional water releases. Water released through conduits will be cold and well oxygenated, so we do not anticipate any issues with the trout population at this time. However, we will monitor water quality closely throughout the tailwater while the hydropower units are unavailable. Since the timing and duration of water releases from the conduits will vary, we encourage anglers to be extremely mindful of water levels when fishing on the tailwater. Please contact us with any concerns regarding the trout population while this work is ongoing. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Press Release (6.6.23): “Ongoing work at Norfork Dam will require [hydropower] unit outages over the next several months and may cause tailwater, rain and siphon data to not populate on our website and app. During these outages, the siphon will be running continuously, and the conduits will be used to make cold water releases and pass flood waters until hydropower units are available to resume generation. The timing and duration of the conduit releases will vary based on pool elevation and downstream water temperatures. You can still view total water release information on our website at www.swl-wc.usace.army.mil and on our app during outages. The app can be found in mobile app stores by searching for USACE Little Rock.”
  2. I bought a set of oars.....gave them away.....found out I would rather fish than row.....
  3. Did try some Jbraid and it preformed pretty good......
  4. Did not, my rod to throw it has failing nano...... Will likely try next trip. Griz Jr. usually keeps me busy netting fish and tying jigs..... switched him to a slip bobber 6-7 ft down with a baby bass and crappie nibble
  5. Griz Jr. was off so we went to Pomme again, after some Dr. apts and task this morning. Got on water at 11, same deal as last week, but lake 1.5 lower so, 15 FOW lay back cast jig count to 6-7 reel slow in. Took 4.5 hrs to get double limit, again slab slayers best bite. Warm but a decent breeze Good Day
  6. Which may be a day or two
  7. I have a portable set up, homemade down pole out of pvc, attaches to boat with a trolling motor mount and large size d ball mounts. Will try to post pictures when I get home
  8. not sure where you are located but the Bass Pro Outlet in Springfield has a stack of MG plates???? Might give them a call (417)891-5375
  9. @Terriermanwhere do you get the tables you speak of?
  10. I have done several, G-Flex is the ticket for epoxy, West Marine has several videos, usually with shipping Jamestown Distributors is less expensive with shipping. Depending on the size needed either Amazon or Ebay for kevlar felt, your appears large so will need a longer felt. You will put a layer or two of gflex on the "wound" before laying down the felt it will take up the space. I usually heat treat to open the pours so far no failures, some white water guys criticize kevlar for weight, 3-4 oz for years of wear...wears like iron with the gflex. Lots of good videos out there, I like putting plastic wrap over for a smooth finish, saves sanding. I am a hack, so most anyone can do it.
  11. I run a Alweld 2052 that is @Ham waldo twin sister gracie, like wise much smaller motor.. 50/25 jet, if enough water to cover top of your shoes it will go with two people. That said, not sure of the water you are running, big rocks can be brutal on your boat. I keep a 20' Champion for my lake use, but sure the Alweld could handle quite a bit. I have seen them boys in the pacific northwest run deep v with jets......
  12. @JestersHK In Jupiter go eat at Jetty's, good food, decent prices and sometimes bump into players.....
  13. Showed Griz Jr. He shoots 2-3 nights a week. He thought they were great, simply does not have the funds or they would be gone.
  14. Daryk unfortunately you will never be "back to where" you were before the event, sorry but it is true. You will have to establish a "new" normal and build from there. Each person is different, and copes differently. Have had flashbacks from the 70's three times in the past week due to random events. PTSD can be difficult, and hard for lawyers to collect on, physical ..... will get better, but as you mature (age) you will get reminders. I am more accurate than the Weather Channel...keep working it will be better.
  15. Pretty sure I am safe, can’t catch one every day🤪
  16. Prayers from the Ozarks.
