  1. Not even close to the same number of people fishing Crane. I bet there are more on a nice weekend at RR than Crane sees all year. And the people fishing Crane are a different breed and know how to respect the fish. I rarely trout fish but will gladly give them my $10 a year or what ever it becomes until death.

    What's Cooking?

Pretty much what Billet says. I like to keep mine about 1/2 thick so it cooks a little easier. A little butter in the skillet and some salt and pepper. Get the skillet nice and hot. Gently lay those babies in there and cook around 3-4 minutes before turning. Cook on the other side around 2 minutes and then take the skillet and dump that crap in the trash and go find a good burger somewhere.
  3. Those that have chosen to threaten the ladies around me have only chosen to do it that one time. They have opted not to see what is behind door #2. That BS has no place in society and I don't take it calmly. Consequences have no meaning at that point.
  4. Sounds like a fun day to me. Thanks for posting. I wanted to be there but the wife had the day off and trout fishing is not what she wanted to do. Hopefully I can get down there soon.
  5. If you really want to protect those fish you will quit fishing for them all together.
  6. Use a good carnauba paste wax and rub it in good. It works. Been there, done that.
  7. Automotive wax works pretty good. The old paste waxes seem the best. Just rub it in.
  8. Geez you sure did get soft quick.
  9. Love that first shot of the pup. Good looking dawg.
  10. Yep. And if you are really that concerned with the health of a fish you will quit fishing. Ain't nobody here going to do that.
  11. Oh so now you are singling me out. I will admit that the last couple of times out I couldn't catch much of anything. But my new floating partner is pretty cute.
  12. Fisherman these days can't handle those kinds of places.
  13. The internet police have arrived.
  14. Lots of nice fish. Thanks for sharing the pics.
  15. I might just take a vacation day and go. Been a few years since I hit the C&R opener.
  16. Never give up. My daughters would go fishing with me when they were younger but all quit as they got older. My youngest wants nothing to do with it. But recently the two oldest have asked to go. Both of them want me to show them how to fly fish and neither knows that the other has requested the same thing.
  17. Here are some I took at Magazine Mountain last Monday evening.
  18. Agreed. Two weeks ago we had to tell our 17 year old daughter that one of her best friends had died in a car accident. That one is still screwing with my head.
  19. Have some Bitcoin and some Doge. Bought it several months ago and then it took a dump right after. But I don’t really care. Did it for fun and rarely check on it anymore.
  20. I took that after my last knee surgery. It turned me into a raging maniac. I'll never take that again.
  21. What did you expect from that POS?
  22. The USGS site is a wealth of information. I'm glad I had a good understanding of it before these apps were available. And I will acknowledge and thank Al for helping me to understand what I was reading from these gauges. I used to always just look at gauge height and that seemed to work. But as Al has suggested in the past I started paying more attention to CFS and it has been very beneficial to understanding the waters I float a lot and what to expect when I get there. Thank you for that Al. Now when my wife says lets go float I can open my app, check the 3 gauges that are close, and have a plan of where we are going in about 10 seconds.
  23. Yeah you can't fathom anyone not agreeing with you. It's okay though. I won't hold it against you. PS. I don't have to scroll.
