  1. I've only gotten the hair on flouro when a guide insert has been split or missing.
  2. Folks will hate sunrise at 8:30 in the morning during the winter. Be a bunch of depressed folks driving to work.
  3. I updated my adblockers and reloaded the web page and it is back to normal.
  4. I enjoy other folks catching fish. I've backed the boat up so they can get a better angle. I would not fish with him again. A knock upside the head with a 1 ounce Carolina sinker might do him good. Otherwise I'd have had him take m back to my vehicle.
  5. I've not had to deal with ads on this site through last Friday. Now they are everywhere. Top of the page and between every couple of topics. What a mess. Now the site is slow to load and a hassle to read as more crap keeps popping up. How do I get rid of these stupid ads? My enjoyment of this site is way down with the ad problem.
  6. Tear the skirt of and the 5 inch Chompers version makes a good "scented" bladed jig trailer
  7. Wrench knows his stuff. At least about outboards.
  8. Amazing what it costs to fuel someone's ego.
  9. I know of a guy that hung a jerkbait in some brush out in a pond. Gave it the old heave-ho and the bait was headed his way. Seven of the nine points buried in his ear.
  10. A buddy's Dad went out to fish at TableRock one year. They got to their first spot and his Dad picked up a spinning rod and fired out a long cast. Went to start the retrieve and no handle. Someone had stolen all the handles off his spinning reels.

    What's Cooking?

Cold and blowing snow all day. Perfect for a batch of chicken and dumplings. May start cooking the chicken and making broth about noon. House will be smelling good.
  12. Anytime you can see the fish and how it reacts to your bait and presentation is a huge advantage. Not only have you verified the presence of the fish, but you are also able to change presentations and/or lures to make it bite. Deepwater sight fishing that technology will make even easier. Takes a lot of uncertainties out of catching a fish. Will make tourneys even more of a rich man's game. Most non-pro derbies are fueled by ego and a need to gamble/compete as the vast majority of these folks do nothing but lose money.
  13. I ended up using a my wife's blow dryer. Film gets hot and liquefies. Quick wipe with a soft cloth and they look great.
  14. I used to fish there a lot as well. Caught many slab crappie there as well as walleyes and whites. Can you still drop a boat in at N highway? I used to hike downriver from the bridge to get away from the crowds. Used to be a great boat ramp above the dam that I'd use to bass fish in the mill pond and above.
  15. Anyone still fish at Caplinger Mills?
  16. Amazing yak. Can't wait to see the finished canoe.
  17. Nuke power is very efficient. The last nuke plant came on line in June 2016. The one before that was 1996. I'd imagine that we have some nearing the end of their useful life and will be decommissioned. Not sure where all the power will come from for Wrench to run his electric boat and pickemup truck.
  18. Usually there is a point to an invasion. Just never heard what the point is. Wrench you don't need to care.
  19. The news is continually talking about Russia possible invading Ukraine. Can someone explain to me why they are wanting to invade? I have searched hi and low for the reason and I have yet to find it.
  20. With all the push (by some) to eliminate fossil fuels and the accompanying emissions, what is the plan to generate all the electricity needed to replace the fossil fuel? I'd assume coalfired and natural gas fired power plants are a no-no. Non one wants a nuke plant near them let alone dealing with all that waste. Does anyone think they can get enough power through wind, solar, and water? Without government subsidies wind and solar are not cost effective. I'll keep my gasser motors thank you.
  21. Love some fried squirrel. Looked at the pic in the article and I would not frequent a restaurant that brought me a plate like that. Tiny bite of protein flopped on some unidentified mess complete with a couple swirls of who knows what for probably $50 a plate. Too "gourmet" for my tastes. Bring me good food served homestyle and I'm in.
  22. What are the best aluminum rigs? Lowe. Lund, Express?
  23. Take it from the opposite direction and they'll be left leaning.
  24. Never had anyone turn down my beef, duck, goose, pheasant, or deer jerky.
