  1. I might make it out a day or two next week myself. I have set my expectations low, very low, so any bass will be a bonus.
  2. Look at the tow vehicle in the last pic. Serious bucks put into that hauler/boat combo.
  3. Well we ended up chasing the little white ball rather than little green fish. Looks like we may get some rain early next week, might help with the fishing even though looking at the reports some of the guys are doing pretty darned good.
  4. If all else fails, you can get the plants from Burpee.com.
  5. Good to hear he is back home.
  6. My top guy is in 60th place. I really have a knack for picking them.
  7. That's a good idea, might pack some crawlers next time if we go and try for some gills.
  8. I have family in town this week, took my 18 yo nephew fishing today. He fishes about once a year, but loves to fish. Last week I got into pretty good numbers of fish and was hoping to do the same today. No such luck, it was super slow, fish gone from where they were last week. We put a half dozen dinks in the boat total. Could not find them shallow, could not find them deep. The nephew still enjoyed himself, but wish we could have found more fish. We might give it another try later this week.
  9. I'm happy with what you decide, I'm so far down in the weeds that I am resigned to being a donator. But, I'll go down fighting! I have the Fabulous Five picked for this week (I hope).
  10. Drop shot may be the ticket on those fish you saw.
  11. I have always liked the white War Eagle 1/2 oz jigging spoon. Dixie Jet spoons are real popular with the guides on Table Rock, I don't know if you can get them locally, but HLS might carry them, as a matter of fact, might not be a bad idea to go over to HLS and see what they recommend. I use these blanks for flutter spoons, if I want white, I'll spray them with Krylon white spray paint. I am partial to the hammered finish. http://www.lurepartsonline.com/Online-Store/Casting-Spoons/Premium-Finish-Casting-Spoons.html
  12. Yeah that is weird, almost sounds to me like they were checking you out with the idea of ripping you off.
  13. Saw that last week, they were around a brush pile, if I dragged a bait through the pile I would almost always get a bite, if I was off to the side, nothing. Lots of fun when you can find them bunched up like that.
  14. I was up in that area a few times in May/June, only had one day where we got into some smallies fairly well, catching them dragging football jigs off gravel points. There were a lot of shad, maybe they are still around and you might find an early top water bite. I would bring some spoons, jigging and flutter, in addition to the drop shot stuff and some Carolina rigs and football jigs. I don't have any location advice other than what you are thinking.
  15. Hey Ketchup, I live in Bella Vista and fish the lakes quite often, they fish pretty well, but overall I can usually catch more in Table Rock, Better chance at big bass in the BV lakes however. Like Doc says, you have to own property in BV to put your boat In the lakes. And it costs about $200 total to register your boat (if it is over 17'), part of that $200 is for your photo ID which you'll need to bring a guest fishing with you. Anyway, if you have any questions about BV, send me a PM. Champ188 and Donna live here also, they'll be happy to give you feedback also. If you're a golfer they can give you the lowdown on the golfing.
  16. Walleye, schmalleye, I'd be really happy with those green fish.
  17. Those are some chunky smallies, looking at the builds of those fish, I bet they are some hard pullers.
  18. Get some Ranger stickers and use them to cover up the Triton logos.
  19. There's still 3 available, hurry before they are gone! There's a listing on Ebay for $108.00 each.
  20. I believe Bill Babler is running a center console for his trout trips on Taneycomo, you might give him a shout. I used to run a 17" Whaler Montauk when I trolled for salmon, sturdy boat, never gave me any problems. (Motor is another story). Not a boat I would want to use for bass fishing however.
  21. Dang, they just rolled out FLW live coverage, would've been fun to watch some of the live fishing. Other than that, I don't care that much, I don't follow the FLW at all except when they come to Beaver.
  22. Nice video. There's a few grass carp here in the community lakes stocked for weed control. A few winters ago I accidentally snagged one while fishing a jerk bait, certainly did some pulling before the hooks came out. A nice looking fish, nice shiny green coloration. I will see one every once in a while when the water is cold, laying on their side, on their back floating on top the water, they look like they are dying, but I believe they are feeding on something. I like to sneak up on them when they are doing that and poke them with a fishing rod - it freaks them out!
  23. I haven't thrown a spinner bait at night, but fishing a week ago on one of the Bella Vista lakes, the guy with me caught a 4.25 bass on a black spinner bait with a #6 Colorado blade. He had a red Menace Grub on it as a trailer. I like to throw a 1/2 - 3/4 oz wobblehead with a black/blue creature bait of some kind. I just don't do much night fishing.
  24. Just saw there was a 4.2 at 8:47 AM just outside Cushing OK.
  25. Anyone notice a jolt a few minutes ago? Felt a jolt here followed by a little shaking.
