Would like to shoot a large one but you should know I am a meat eater. If a good one comes along, I will take it out. I can and have made them eat well. But even the fat does can be tough. Can take care of those too. Never had a bad deer.

There is another thing that needs to be added but the cuts on the beef is the most important. It is the way the beef is raised for market. If you use the cut chart on a bull doing his thing breeding his heard, he is going to be tough period. So going back to muscle movement making cuts tough is truth. Restricting movement like in a feed lot and lots of food keeping the feed lot cattle lethargic equals more tender meat. Then there is time hanging the beef after slaughter to age again depending on size/weight of the carcass. Google is your friend here wrench. If you don't believe what some of us tell you here, look it up. Better yet go talk to a butcher or farmer and maybe they can explain it better to you.

It's where the cut comes from. The less used the muscle is the better and tender it is. I want a cut from the tenderloin and I suppose a tuff guy like you Wrench wants to gnaw on the front leg of the beef? Cuts of Meat | National Beef Association CLASS OVER
  4. Think Shuttlecock for temperate bass.
  5. Oneshot the goat roper! I see the new goats like to go up to the poop deck for a better view of the surroundings.
  6. Could be John we have caught bunches of those. What is throwing me is the mouth on this one looks bigger than a whitefish. Lots of whitefish out there and seems to be the most feasible answer.
  7. Nice fine spot!
  8. You know I will be picking your brain about this Les. Need to lighten up the jet as much as I can to take more gear and anchor with me. You know the deal .
  9. (Error code: IMG_20220723_084051667_HDR.jpg could not be saved.) This is what I get from laptop. The image was resized. From phone not resized it just hangs up trying to download on the provided blue loading bar.
  10. Are you going to be in the Cody area for a couple days? When you are ready to catch fish text or call me.
  11. I'm for sure Amber will attest it for sure is not Orion setting off the alarm with toxic farts. Pat and I have witnessed her saying something about her dad farting while they were sleeping in the SUV and running her out of it one night. Does anyone Smoke in the house setting off the alarm? Could of it been Douglas cooking after he took over Sugarbritches kitchen when he visited? So many options for the cause!

Get a dozen deer whistle deals that were on the market for years and glue them all over the hood! I see no problem with this if it takes out the feral and dumped cats no one wants to take care of anymore. This way the ones city folk dump I don't have to take care of.
  14. I'll take it Keith.
  15. These PSA announcements this one and the skin cancer thread makes us all take a pause to think. Thank you Mark and glad your bride was on the ball to push you the way she did.
  16. Fun times Rick! Thanks for the read.
  17. Extra Large Please
  18. Happens similar around here and I am betting all over the state. Folks buy wholesale at Amish country stores and markets. Mark it up and sell roadside stands and in farmers markets.
  19. Looking so forward to this trip and report Rick! Have fun and catch a bunch or just a few. Time with family and friends is so important.
  20. Pat and I went with Duane on upper Bull a few early springs ago. Caught a bunch, never lost a megabass on a fish but did lose one where I forgot to open the bail on the spinning reel. DOH! 🤪
  21. I was just there yesterday getting some two-part clear coat for finishing some wooden baits. I have discovered the wood lathe. Stand by for more as I continue .
  22. It's really good to hear from you friend. Have been wondering where you all have have been. Living the dream you guys are. Kudos and congrads on the upcoming birth ahead! It doesen't seem that long ago we were tying flys at the shop.
  23. Bingo, correct. My biggest walleye that hangs above my head is 10 pounds and caught on 4 lb line. No net so I lipped here. Four lb line did fine, fingers not so well but she and I had a death grip on each other. It lost it's life and I bled like a stuck hog. March 9th 1986. Truman reservoir mile and and half upstream of Roscoe on Osage arm. Red and yellow roadrunner. Remember like it was yesterday.
  24. I am by far not wanting the lead ban in most situations so lets not point fingers partner. In the waterfowl lead ban as much as I like my lead for game its a must because of the sheer density in areas where waterfowl feed. Now where it's spread out more especially on private property where hunting pressure is nil to none let the lead fly. Lead is a natural product from mother nature. I have eaten more than a few pellets in my lifetime and maybe this is why I am like I am. (beat ya to it). Be thankful you don't live in California where lead bullets are not legal in most places. Better yet why don't you transfer out there for a spell and let them catch the wrath of Gravois Mills. Give us a break here on OAF. HA just joking you know. Burn that Styrofoam backstop and take a whiff of the fumes. I am sure in your business you have inhaled worse and are still with us. Moderation is the key in most things in life but I'm sure there are some more vulnerable to certain things natural, and man-made. The young for a start. On another note we had a member on here my friend Richard who is passed now who helped a friend reclaim lead on trap and skeet ranges. He ran a dump truck and hauled dirt to sifters that took the shot out of the soil and then soil was put back. It's a big business and literally tons of lead was reclaimed. Both the ranges made money as well as the cleanup crew. Heck just take a minute to think every box of 1 1/8 ounces of lead is just shy of two pounds of lead. When I shot trap went through four boxes at a time easy depending on the shoot. Now multiply that by number of shooters during a match for one night! Good grief trap and skeet ranges could be classified as a toxic waste site.
  25. @Steve McBasser, Wishing you a speedy recovery man. I am not the best about protecting my skin, but this will jerk a new knot in my tail. Thanks for the reminder as all have said before.
