    What's Cooking?

Life be good in the billethood.
  2. One of the best investments I have ever made.
  3. Bingo As Mike said. Yes, edible but kind of bland flavor so something in the breading will help. Also, a good, layered filler in a lasagna or other casserole. Easy ID but two things to look for. Slice and make sure it does not have a non-edible forming in it. By the size if it right away I would say no. It should look like a clean slice of white bread inside. If it is darker, it is on its way downhill. I like puffballs. In places these become quite large.
  4. @Ketchup Just like Mike said you will pay a bit more for good optics. I was really wanting the Vortex that Bass Pro/ Cabelas had on sale a year or so back. As soon as I got the online flyer I ordered. It went through and a few minutes later got an Email that they were sold out. Needless to say I was pretty mad. It was knocked off regular price pretty well. I argued with them go figure:). Cotton picking order said it was available and went through. They knew I was mad, and I talked to three people until I got some results. Squeaky wheel does get the grease. Asked what was comparable. Found one I wanted and said what can I get that for? Oh, regular price sir, I went on a mini rant again and they finally agreed to knock off the same percentage of the Vortex. What I got out of that was Zeiss Terra ED 10 X 42. I have never had a nicer set of Binoculars. We treat them very special. Again, like Mike said go somewhere and look through each brand if you are able.
  5. Sounds like the stupid son should be in jail.

Nice Gavin, I am always tweaking grilled cheese sammiches. My smoked pepper dust from various peppers from our garden does wonderful things!
  8. and short so every fish he catches looks big! 🤣
  9. Poor boy club is the best kind.
  10. Hey Kendall, We have not decided yet. Have that pond in the Horton bottoms we could try but it's nothing but a mud hole. Last time we did the opener, and it was this low hunting was bad. It seems to be our only middle zone opener option.
  11. Probably not. Not totally out but not committed either.
  12. Another atta boy Dave!
  13. He must be skeert because of all his good-looking friends Cody. Did not want you break dancing with the new bride! 🤪
  14. Wow and no OAF member attended? congratulations to @N9BOW.
  15. Oh, good grief!
  16. Well done Mic. Pretty neat catching on your flies!
  17. Whats on the menu at the @oneshot 1bed and breakfast?
  18. I try tying various new to me patterns every year and really have not had that did not work. There are tried and true things in my fly box that are staples to tie up and fill boxes every year also. We are 90 percent warmwater fisherman and fisherwoman in the BilletHead household. If we were closer to a cold-water area that percentage would change because we would fill in days with that.
  19. Write a book on your life. Make it 100% non-fiction and get it published. I would read it.
  20. It's done. hope all goes well sir.

Good job Daryk it looked really yummy. I agree about chicken breast meat it is pretty bland. Commercial chickens I think flavor has been bread out of them or maybe it is what feed they are fed. Thier thighs still retain some flavor though. Commercial chicken breasts are like tasteless crappie fillets. Need a flavorful coating for help. Good post buddy!
  22. I would save my money. Who knows Pomeranian might make good catfish bait? You know I jest if the Pom makes you happy get it. Just don't let it trip you.
  23. I have to call my son and grandkids for help. Have a three-year-old great granddaughter and if I live long enough, I will be asking her for help!
  24. And you are young compared to me!
