  1. Tuesday I decided they could eat a spinnerbait or go hungry. Not many wanted it but some were pretty nice.
  2. My day at Stockton was similar. I decided they would eat a spinnerbait or go hungry. I caught 4 early on a bleeding shiner with a bare keeper and a 4 1/2# greenie. I missed several short hits and switched to a bladed jig they also hit it short. I switched colors but no change. Then it died. I got one on a Trig then nothing. I fished for whites for a while and caught 1 on a trap.
  3. You’ve got to quit chewing those jimson weed seeds.
  4. Bring in more immigrants and train them for those vacant jobs.
  5. I keep my timber fenced off from the cattle except for a few savannas so they can have shade.
  6. Maybe that acorn thing is why I don’t care for venison. Acorns and rocks are all they have to eat in Stone County.
  7. I’ve had it about every way that you can fix it. The more I’ve had the less I like it. Summer sausage is the only way I can eat it and that has to be cut with beef and a lot of liquid smoke. I’ve gone through lots of jerky recipes and quit all of them. So I quit hunting them cause I can’t do catch and release like with the fish.
  8. Maybe but I don’t like the taste. I just stay with my rosemary lamb.
  9. Top Gun in Nixa maybe?
  10. Sold pending payment.
  11. I have found that I don’t use the heavier ones like I thought I would. So I will sell this assortment (box not included) tyd for $20 or local pick up $15.
  12. Which college? There are at least 200 colleges in New York?
  13. Looking back at my records, October 13 is the earliest day that I have listed for finding whites feeding in the shallows. Usually they show up above the McCracken Bridge before the main lake.
  14. Not this trip. Those flats in there might have produced some square bill fish.
  15. So tell us about the Colorado, Carolina, Louisiana trip. Which place did you go?
  16. That bank I don’t recognize, but I’ve never seen them when the trees had leaves on them. Are there millions of dead zebra mussels all over the place.
  17. I’d say it is a combination of all of the above. Just take a look at the lack of new cars because of what has happened in the plants that produce the computer components.
  18. They will do that in numbers enough at Stockton that some will stop and fish them thinking it is a school of whites.
  19. I am using the Lakemaster Great Plains v6 in my Solix.
  20. I launched at Hartley this morning and headed to my favorite spinnerbait spot. I caught 3 and missed 3. I don’t know why. I was using a trailer hook. After that I drug out the jig, shaky, and jigging spoon. I spent way longer than I should have fishing deep, looking for brown fish. All I caught was a short eye on a shaky worm. My brain said that there are always some fish shallow. So I put on a square bill and covered a few miles of shallow water. I wound up catching 3 on the square bill. They were not where I thought they should be but heck they aren’t tied up. I fished from Hartley to Mutton Creek both sides of the lake. The water was from 78-79°. I think I will go back to the slimy water in the James for a while.
  21. Shhhhhhhhh
  22. I has been so hard for me that I have been fishing the scummy water up the James on the rock. Tomorrow morning I plan to make my monthly humbler to Hartley. I am going to try buzzers early then spinnerbaits, bladed jigs and square bills before I settle into jigs and plastic.
  23. Thanks. That’s an amazing pic. We only have 4 and they never drink together. They just chase each other around the back yard.
  24. It was tough today. I tried out the Jadesjigs wide gap. It seems to be more snag free than my regular Ned heads. The bad news is the fish weren’t in the mood for the little guy. Neither did they want a chatter bait. Shaky was all that produced today. Several colors worked but New Money was best. I never had a bite anywhere near a point. I fished mostly from Doty’s to Carr’s. The fish were scattered. I covered a lot of water. I wound up catching 10 with 4 nice greenies to 4#. The water was from 79° to 82°.
