Fish24/7 Posted January 9, 2021 Posted January 9, 2021 This afternoon I boiled some chicken thighs, and threw in some noodles for tonight's supper. Went a did a little fishing in between. Chief Grey Bear and Mitch f 2
BilletHead Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 The once and awhile splitting up ribeye for us today, over charcoal and wood. Tried something new to side with it. Roasted sweet and sour Napa cabbage. A very tasty side that will be repeated. A Bourbon Barrel quad to go with. Usually split one of those too but I did the whole bottle myself. I am really liking that stuff but I'm a sissy and it about kicks my rear . Chief Grey Bear Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Ever make a meal that you think is going to wow you? And then it doesn’t? I fully admit, it happens. That’s why I generally don’t follow recipes as written. Today was no exception except for one exception. I made Marsala Chicken. It’s an Italian dish with Marsala wine. Not being much of a wino, I skipped buying a bottle of Marsala wine just to use 3/4 cup. Which I highly doubt my acutely trained culinary palate would have distinguished anyway. So basically all I did was make a garlic cream sauce. Really I made more of a garlic cream gravy. Which according to the recipe is what it really is, a gravy. That’s just not what they call it. It really wasn’t a bad meal. Ronada really liked it. But if I don’t get a flavor punch in the mouth, I’m not satisfied. I’ll make this again but with more POW! fishinwrench Posted January 10, 2021 Posted January 10, 2021 Sugarbritches and I nearly had a knockdown-dragout last night because she spent 30.00 and dirtied every dish in the house over some Macaroni & cheese that....well.... let's just say.... "there wasn't anything special about it". My position was: Why not just make it in a saucepan from a box? One pan to wash, and $2.99 Her position was: It's better homemade and baked in the oven. Well, you couldn't tell by the amount left over after everyone was finished eating. People were dumping the stuff off their plates into the dogs bowl....for crying out loud! That never happens with the boxed stuff! Needless to say, I slept on the couch last night, and got fed cold pancakes this morning. 🙄 And guess what's being served as a side for the pork chops tonight? Go ahead and guess! 🤪 I suppose my best move is to mention how much better it is the SECOND time around? Yeah, I got this 👍 Foghorn and Gavin 1 1

I'm just gonna eat it and keep my comments to myself. I was kinda hoping that you guys would convince me that baked mac & cheese was far superior to Kraft or Velveeta. We've actually had the same fight before, regarding baked beans.

My sister in law made it “homemade” for some holiday get together. Nobody ate it😂. That was probably 20 years ago and someone always brings it up. She’s still gets chapped about it😁 fishinwrench 1
