fishinwrench Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Sugarbritches and I have been arguing for days because even though this Thanksgiving will be our smallest (group size) ever.....she has decided to do both a Turkey AND a Ham. Rediculous. #1. I don't see the point in it. #2. Who wants to smell ham while eating turkey, or vise-versa? #3. Afterwards, for leftovers, now there's going to be a choice that has to be made, and it's a rather hard one. The only ones happy about this plan is her and the dog.
Flysmallie Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 We have a ham and turkey every year, but I could do without the turkey. The Queen says every year that we don’t need the ham but after each thanksgiving we have leftover turkey but never any ham. bfishn 1
bfishn Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 I've been lucky enough to get invited to some friends T day dinner for the last several years since I have no family left in the area. Last year I talked them into skipping the ham & turkey and letting me fry catfish for a change of pace. They loved it. This year they asked me to do it again, but one of the brothers insists on bringing a ham too. I'm gonna bring him a loaf of bread so he can make sammiches with all his leftover ham. ☺️ MOPanfisher, Johnsfolly, nomolites and 3 others 6 I can't dance like I used to.
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 We did my half of the family Sunday. Two pork butts on the smoker, cheese garlic bread, green bean casserole, veggie trey and apple pie. Lots O beer and wine. Thursday in KC I have to choke down some turkey for the other half of the family's deal. Daryk Campbell Sr 1
fishinwrench Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Ham is for Christmas dinner. Turkey is for Thanksgiving. Thats just a rule that should never be broken. But she's breaking it. I want a divorce. 💔 Johnsfolly, Daryk Campbell Sr, ness and 1 other 4

I eat those for lunch all the time why would I want it on the holidays. When my parents died they took the turkey and ham dinners with them and my family has never been happier. That's just wrong. Enjoy your tacos 😝
snagged in outlet 3 Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Actually last year we did fajitas and it was great. Couple margaritas to boot. This Xmas is steaks and crab legs. But you go ahead enjoy the "traditional" fare. bfishn 1
Flysmallie Posted November 20, 2018 Posted November 20, 2018 Before my dad passed we always did tacos at Christmas. Traditions are only fun when they are your own. snagged in outlet 3 and bfishn 2
