Rat Patrol!!!

There's a show I loved as a kid but haven't seen it since then. May need to search for that.

I had one fizzle and fly out of the gun in my sister's bedroom, and ten minutes later in the living room we started smelling smoke.  It burned through her sheet and into the mattress.  Made a fist sized hole in the mattress that we had to dump 2 glasses of water into to put the fire out.    After the mattress dried out my sister had to stuff a couple socks into the hole and flip it over. 😂

I did not get beat severely about the face and neck, that time, only because Dad was more curious about how I learned to make caps from matches.  He did take the matches and cap gun away from me though.

When my son was little I caught him playing with matches.  I went and got a couple boxes them big ole kitchen matches and turned him loose in the backyard.  He just kind of looked at me like I was going to scold him or something.  I sat down and showed him all the tricks and how to be safe and he came in a few hours later and had it all out of his system.  I said if you want more just let me know.

My old man did that to me when I was 8 and he caught me lighting some matches.  Gave me a couple of boxes, had me go out back in the yard and light them one by one, had to stay out there until I lit every match.  Of course, the lesson I learned was don't let the old man catch you lighting matches.

I also remember when me and a buddy, this was at about 10 years of age, got the bright idea to make torches one evening.  His dad wasn't home at the time, so we got a can of gas and some big sticks, soak the end of the sticks in gas and light them.  It all went well until we knocked the gas can over and scorched a pretty good chunk of back yard.  We were so lucky we didn't burn down the house.  The kid I was with got in trouble, but fortunately his old man didn't tell my old man.

Neighbors garage burned yesterday, including his truck and Corvette. Which of you firebugs did that?

I see that!   He probably left a battery charger on "maintain".

When I was a kid, we were at my cousin's house. He and I were lighting sparkles on a roof next to his house. Well some unlit sparkles got dumped down a PVC drain pipe, which wasn't bad until a lit one followed. Set the drainpipe on fire. Black billowing smoke led to the fire department showing up. They cut a four foot section of the pipe off near the bottom and all was over except for the beatings. My cousin ratted on me when he was the one that dropped down the lit sparkle.

Just finished The Irishman. Excellent, but I’m partial to mob flicks.

Really interesting special features afterward talking about how they used CGI trick to age the characters. Here’s a couple examples of Joe Pesci.

Goodfellas was a good mob flick, maybe not in my top 5 of all time, but would make the top 10.  It was preceded by the book, Wiseguys, which is a good read.

Yep, that's a good one. Haven't read the book.

Godfather I and II are top ten movies for me. Also like Donnie Brasco, Bronx tale, The Departed, Road to Perdition, Casino. Miller's Crossing is good, but I haven't see it in a loooong time.
