I call BS, there is no way you could have held up a smallmouth that big. I think you made up the high tide part too, by my chart high tide was at 8:00 p.m. BEFORE you got to Eagle Rock. BUSTED! :) Life is too shot not to have a little fun sometimes.

My high tide chart was pacific time. There's always one by pump two at uncle Roys at high tide.

If you're going to post catching and killing a nice bass or a nice trout anywhere on the public net - forum or facebook - expect to get hammered. It's just the way it is in the fishing www.

Sounds like to me we don't have to worry about people like this catching to many keeper fish. A blind squirrel finds a nut every once in awhile.

^ this, and you can bet once that squirrel finally gets a nut it's off to the nearest soapbox to stand on.

I now understand a pic was posted and deleted, one that would have gotten the poster's membership deleted. I didn't see it.

I know some are frustrated with the direction of some posts here lately--but this forum is approaching it's 10th birthday and believe me, it has seen worse days.

People come and go... but the best members are still here. I appreciate that.

Thanks Buddy, well said. This is a pretty tight net community. with 99% of our membership here to help and share. People know what is acceptable here and what is nothing but instigation.

No further response to this tread is necessary.

So instead of going to bed last night I couldn't stop thinking about this awesome upper end fishing. So I grabbed my favorite grub rod and went to the courtesy dock at the eagle rock camp ground. So here's my report:

I fished from 11:30pm-6:30am between Eagle Rock and Holiday Island. I didn't take my boat so I fished off the courtesy dock all night. Most fish came on the flat but some off bluff ends, rock piles, brush piles, tire piles, manure piles and hydrilla. One did come from Uncle Roys at high tide. I think I could have done better but I'm not much on night fishing and I was by myself. I let the big small mouth go. Not because they don't taste good but because I gut hooked it and I was afraid the meat would taste rusty.

I left them biting guys. It just goes to show all you need is a good spot, confidence, patience, and kick butt electronics.

Good looks, wisdom, awesome intuition, extreme skill, and humility help to. Humility being really important. I'm better at being humble than anybody!

You could have left those dinks in the water if you had just remembered your jersey. You know that's what it takes to get the big bite. Lol
