There was a 12 y/o kid in my home town that heard if you smeared Vaseline all over your body that you could set yourself on fire and not get burned.  He rubbed himself down and then poured lighter fluid all over himself and BUSTED THAT MYTH.

He didn't have a prom date in high school.
