I liked the Smothers brother's show as well as Laugh-in. Got my first crush on Goldie Hawn watching Laugh-in. I also loved listening to Bob Newhart's phone bits.

Lets see I got the album in the early seventies when we lived in Southern California. When my folks heard it playing they about freaked out. The language on it :) . Pretty mild by todays standards,

My baby sister "borrowed" my album and took to school to share at fun time,  unbeknownst to me,  "freaked out" would be a mild term when Mom had to go to school and get my sister and the album

Do you remember "Let's make a Dope Deal!"?

"What is your name? You have 60 seconds."

Hey I know that one man..

"It starts with a B.."

I knew that one when I came in here man... Don't tell me..

"Ends with a B..." "Just 10 seconds Bob...."

BOB!!

"That's right Bob. You win!"

The album was "The Big Bambu."  I taped it from a buddy who had the album.  It could have been their first album and got them the movie gigs.  I had it memorized.

I remember an old Smothers Brothers album my sister had....

Tommy: "I remember I went to your wedding, and the conception"

Dicky: "You mean the REception?"

Tommy: "I guess I got the wrong room!"

I bought every one of the Smothers Brothers records from eBay about ten years ago and converted them to mp3's.  I am a big fan.

Yep. I had one of those.

"Had" being the telltale descriptor there... as in, I no longer have mine either. :D

I too grew up listening and watching them. In 2008 we went and seen them at the Juanita K Hammonds Hall At SMS in Springfield. A great show and included a performance by the Yo Yo Man :)
