I believe those of us hear on this forum were fortunate to have been brought up by good parents and taught to have respect for other people, & to have even a bit more respect for those that help & protect the citizens,,, law enforcement, firefighters, medical personal, etc. We all are very fortunate, Not to give anyone a excuse for there actions, but for those that did not have that atmosphere in there childhood is sad. We all got in some kind of trouble when younger but the good parenting we had as kids comes to light as we grow up. Thanks Mom & Dad!! You nailed it, 96 CHAMP. vernon, 96 CHAMP, big c and 2 others 5

Heaven forbid we actually recognize the facts and the truth. Thanks for sharing - I will do the same. Mitch f 1 "Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups." fishinwrench Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Well here's the deal..... An active shooter needs to be taken down by whatever means is the quickest, but there are other ways to subdue combative drug dealers and/or cigar thief's, and folks who drive off without paying for fuel. The whole "Do exactly as I say immediately OR DIE" mentality is never going to work out well when people are upset/freaked out/wound up for whatever reason. If you think that being immediately submissive and doing what an officer tells you to do is always the best choice then maybe you should speak to the Brandon Ellingson family. Not everyone that an officer has contact with believes that they've done anything wrong. Or at least not "wrong enough" that they should just have to surrender and go cuffed to the jailhouse and fight it out LEGALLY $$$$$$. later.

I agree with you that cop was a dumbass and should pay the price but, he won't. I have friends and family that are LEO'S but, I'm a clown and always have been. We definitely have some people being cops that shouldn't be but, that being said this whole resistant Bull from the AA and Libertarian community is stupid as well IMO

Sore Thumbs Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 These officers are understaffed and need whatever help they can get. It's gonna be harder and harder to find people willing to work in this crazy environment. Cities are pulling funding and demanding more of their underpaid force. You wanna see a bad situation? Go look at murder rates in Chicago the last 5 years. They refuse to put enough officers in bad areas and people are killing each other like crazy. Kudos to those brave folks who go out and brave that stuff. bluebasser86, Champ188 and big c 3
