Quillback Posted October 4, 2016 Posted October 4, 2016 Didn't mean to imply that I would not give money to charitable causes, but that would require more thought on where I would send it. And this is all daydreaming anyway, I'll never have anything as far as money that is even remotely close to JM money. 96 CHAMP 1

You & me both Quillback, the way I look at things, it is more rewarding to struggle for the things we charish, when the struggle is over we look back & say, I worked my behind off for that. What do the rich say?? I want more?? I guess we would have to be in their shoes to see it from the other side. Champ188 1

Guys like that are power junkies. He'll never have "enough" money. Business is his outlet, it's what drives him. It's likely all he ever thinks about.

Gavin Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I agree with Ness. Morris made a big bet with Goldman's money. If it does not go well, Goldman Sachs will own him and want to cash out quickly. Will definetely add more to the top line, but not sure about the bottom line. Hope it goes well for the folks who work at both places. Daryk Campbell Sr and Champ188 2

Also looks like Goldman Sachs fronted Johnny a couple of billion for the purchase. Of course, Goldman will want a return on that, which leads to speculation about an eventual BPS IPO. https://www.bloomberg.com/gadfly/articles/2016-10-03/why-cabela-s-reeled-in-a-better-than-expected-price-from-bass-pro That's the first thing I thought when I heard the news... it won't be long before BPS is a symbol on the NYSE. dtrs5kprs 1
Members Browntrout Posted October 5, 2016 Members Posted October 5, 2016 I find terrible customer service and utterly clueless employees every time i go to either store. Makes sense somehow. Why the hell cant Tims flyshop be closer?

Of course, you could just put a loaded up boat on every body of water that you ever wanted to fish so as to save the hassle of towing. At least all those boats can be Rangers now. vernon 1
