I have had several hooks in my hands, legs and once even got a fly in the neck. My son even got a hook just below my eyebrow and I was able to stop him from finishing his cast. However only one of these hooks went in as deep as the barb. I had to pull that one out from the back of my calf myself. I really hope to avoid doing that again.

QB, congratulations on getting back on the water. How did the knee hold up?

Hey Mike - The knee held up pretty well, it gets uncomfortable sitting with it bent, so I periodically have to stand up and fish for a while.  4 hours of fishing yesterday was enough.  Overall it is coming along fine, the surgeon and the therapists claim that I am ahead of the curve as far as recovery.

Done correctly, it is almost completely pain free.

QB it is very important that you push that bending on your own. I know its no fun but if its not done aggresively you will never recover fully. I know someone that happened to. She developed some other problem due to it and they had do another surgery. How long ago was that knee done????

7 weeks ago was the surgery.  I have been religious about the therapy, the therapists measured my range of motion and it is what it should be.  I'm doing fine Plug, thanks for your concern and I will continue to grind out the therapy exercises.  We've got several fitness centers here in Bella Vista, they are well stocked with different exercise machines, I've been doing leg presses, hamstring curls, riding the stationary bike, and doing balance exercises with a BOSU ball.  I have also been walking the dog about a mile a day.  It's all coming together but it takes time.

I bent over the front deck of my boat to pick up a rod with a wiggle wart on it. When i went to pick it up the hooks snagged in my boat carpet, the rod loaded and the hooks came free launching the crank bait at me. The bait came to a stop when one off the hooks stuck into my lower lip. After my brother quit laughing, he was able to push the barb through my lip and cut it off to remove the bait from my lip. This episode of "fishing for dummies" seems to come up often at family gatherings.
