What kind of fish attractant does everyone use and do you use it all the time and how often do you reapply and do you use it on every lure you put in the water ???????

I use the old fashioned kind, but only when needed. Growing up on a farm, grandpa used to chew that Redman long cut. I used to watch him spit that brown garb on his bait before every cast. Many moons later, when the fishing gets really tough, i will spit some nice clean saliva on my bait. Again thats only in emergency cases as it works. I dont chew like grandpa did, so every now amd then i will take a bite of a snickers bar and use that. Thats when i usually catch those brown fish. All natural attractant here.

None.  I believe it is important to keep your hands clean and free of other scents though.  I wash my hands well with a no odor soap and dry them well if I have put on sunscreen, pumped gas, eat, or most anything else that will put my hands in contact with stuff that fish may find offensive.

I was once bow hunting in Michigan. Before getting into my brushed in ground blind, i took a leak next to a tree 15 yards from where i was sitting. An hour later a cute little 8 point walked up to that exact spot, smelled the area, and walked away without ever comparing my urine smell to danger.

With that said maybe thats why i dont catch many fish. I get gas on the way to the lake, take a leak somewhere between unhooking and launching, eat and drink while fishing, and may even scratch myself a few times during the day....Ive gotta get me some garlic smelling baby wipes for the boat.

I usually don't use scent, but some of the soft plastics I use have built in scent.  Keitech, Paca Chunks, Strike King with their caffeine scent, Yum baits, and Megastrike.  All those baits work, but so do Zoom baits which have a bit of a plastic scent from the material they are made of.

I think it's funny that garlic, coffee, banana, peanut butter, vanilla, licorice, and whatever it is in Powerbait that smells like dirty panties....Are all considered "attractants", but tobacco is supposedly the worst thing in the world.  "Don't dare touch a bait after smoking a cig"!!!

If that's not the definition of propaganda I don't know what is.

That's right in line with these people who can stand there and burn leaves, brush, and trash all day, park next to a running diesel, ect. .....But somebody lights a cigarette and they almost go into convulsions.   It's amazing how media mind control works.

LOL, I have used my cigar to "cut" the tag end of the line before.  And spit a goober of redman on more than one jig or lure, because why not.

Hey, dont put "garlic" and "banana" in the same sentence.

Deer seem to be curious about scent and will walk up to investigate things that are different and as you noted do not register as danger.

I believe fish are forgiving of some scents and not so much for others.  Sunscreen being the 'scent' they are least tolerant of.  I believe Berkley did some tank test a long time ago comparing the reaction of fish to baits that had contacted sunscreen and those that had not.  The sunscreen baits, if I recall right and that is a big if, got bit less and when they were bit got spit faster than the non sunscreen bait.

Every cast though is like a mini lottery with it's own set of variables so it makes it more difficult to quantify the deciding factor in a fish biting or not.  That leaves us as anglers doing what works best for us. Frankly it would get pretty boring if fishing became such a science that you could 'call your shot'.
